Lapland Longspur at MLK

The GGAS Bay Area Birds class went to MLK Shoreline today, and at the grassy meadow adjacent to Arrowhead Marsh we found a Lapland Longspur among the pipits.  We were there about 11:00.  Roughly 16 of us had good views of the bird near a drainage grate in the middle of the meadow.  There were about 100 Canada Geese and 15 American Pipits on the lawn, and one photographer, Bill Thomas, who has promised to send me an image of the bird.  We saw no unusual pipits.
