Bird behavior pic- angry Snowy


Yesterday during low tide at the perimeter of Doolittle Pond, MLK Shoreline a group of about ten Snowy Egrets where resting quietly when this one flew in and decided it wanted the shoreline to itself.  For about a half hour, it continually ran off any of the others near it.

"He", I think, was in near breeding plumage which might account for the aggression. After establishing a wide area to himself, he did not feed.
