Sibley Sightings - Nesting Bluebird and Pygmy Nuthatch plus Red-breasted Sapsucker

George A Suennen

Hello All,

Sorry to bother you all again, but had some interesting sightings this morning.
Walked the Round Top Loop Trail at Sibley Preserve and saw a pair of Western
Bluebirds "working" a nesting hole on the southern part of the trail.

In the same area spotted a Pygmy Nuthatch cleaning out another nesting hole:

Other notable birds were a pair of Hairy Woodpeckers and a pair of Red-breasted
Sapsuckers.

Also had a Northern Flicker (for a 3 woodpecker morning) and a cooperative Hermit
Thrush:

Sorry, the photos are a little grainy due to the low light conditions.

Best Regards,
George
