Today at Coyote Hills I photographed a female Northern Shoveler with two ducklings. They were on the north side of the large pond directly across from the last parking lot, near where a large rock is adjacent to the trail. The Alameda County BBA states the only confirmation for this species was at Hayward Marsh during the census period, so this may be of interest.
