Nelson's Sharp-Tailed Sparrow Arrowhead Marsh

Around 9:15 this morning, I located the Nelson's Sharp-Tailed Sparrow (lifer!) in precisely the place described by Jim Scarff two days ago. Participants in Phil Gordon's Ohlone Audubon field trip rushed over and a crowd of some 50 people formed on the boardwalk...The sparrow is shy and skulking, popping in and out of the pickleweed at the water's edge and hiding under a bush. A Song Sparrow contributed by faking us out.

Clapper Rails, Soras, and many other birds were also seen.
