Common Loon and Townsend's Warbler, Quarry Lakes RP

On Monday afternoon, a Common Loon was in the south bay of Horseshoe Lake at Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont. A Townsend's Warbler was in the trees near the info kiosk on the midway trail on the east side of the lake. A calling Belted Kingfisher was in that area as well. A banded Brown Pelican was on the swimming beach (I reported the banded bird).

To reach Quarry Lakes, from Paseo Padre Parkway go northeast on Isherwood Way. Or from Alvarado-Niles Road (which is Niles Blvd. at this point), go southwest on Osprey and then south on Quarry Lakes Road. Park by the buildings next to the swimming beach and walk south on the paved trail; BART is on your left, Horseshoe Lake is on your right.
