The Vermilion Flycatcher showed up about 10:40 AM in picnic area D at Lake Elizabeth in Fremont where it was seen by six birders including Denise Wight and Steve Steinke. In the sunlight, the reddish orange belly was quite brilliant. Denise pointed out the bright color continued on the undertail coverts. It was fly catching and moved between about four different trees at the top branches. When Steve and I left at 11:45 AM, it was still offering excellent views.
