Arrowhead Marsh Pelicans Egrets Cormorants feeding simultaneously

Claude Lyneis

There was a large group of Brown Pelicans feeding in and around Arrowhead Marsh this afternoon, at least 50.  What was unusual was there were both Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets and Double-crested Cormorants joining in or butting it.

The Pelicans seemed to be leading and the others trying to get in on the action.  They were moving around the bay and spent a few minutes close to the island at the tip of Arrowhead Marsh.
