Western Tanager - Antioch yard - 5/9

Paul Schorr

This morning a pair of Black-headed Grosbeaks showed up in our yard. While I was watching them come and go to the feeders and bird bath, a FOS male Western Tanager flew in and landed in a small tree about 20 feet from where I was sitting. I think that it may have been attracted to the nearby water fountain, but it did not go to it. After perching briefly, it flew off and to my knowledge did not return.

Stay well, be safe and Happy Birding,

Paul Schorr
