Long-tailed Ducks, Black Scoter, Herring Run at Miller Knox Park
Phred Benham
Hello all, This morning Libby Beckman and I observed a large concentration of ducks and gulls brought in by the Herring run. They were right offshore at high tide, viewing from Miller Knox regional park shoreline. Mixed in with the hundreds of Surf Scoter, Greater Scaup, and Bufflehead were 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 1 BLACK SCOTER, and the continuing HEERMANN’S GULL. Here is our e-bird checklist from the morning with so-so photos of the Long-tailed Ducks and Black Scoter. https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S52308320 Good birding, Phred Benham Point Richmond, CA Phred M.
