The Tropical Kingbird continued near the wooden railing today in Heather Farm Park, located in the Ygnacio Valley. Most of the expected winter species were seen, including several American Goldfinches and two Ring-billed Gulls. There were up to 12 Killdeer at the south end of the north ball fields.
In our patio north of the park, I saw a Slate-colored Junco about 9:40 AM. I thought I might have seen it a couple of days ago, but it was very early and still dark. This would be a new yard bird for us in a patio about the size of two parking spaces--maybe.
