Coyote Hills (8/25) - Black-throated Sparrow, Hermit Warbler, American Bittern

Jerry Ting

This (8/25/2018) morning at Coyote Hills:
1. Continued juvenile Black-throated Sparrow - re-found by Bill Chen at the Pergola on Muskrat trail (Quarry Staging Area hill side) at 8:47am.
2. Hermit Warbler - adult female found and photographed by Eric Zhou around 9:00am in white pine tree (?) in front of the nectar garden.
3. American Bittern - seen and photographed on north side of the channel between the kiosk and Quarry Staging parking area on park main road around 9:45am.

It's been a very good year for White-tailed Kite.  I saw at least 14 this morning just walking around Main and DUST Marsh.

Happy Birding,

Jerry Ting
