Two more odd shorebirds at Franks Dump yesterdy

Noah Arthur

If anyone's looking for the Stint this afternoon, there were a couple other interesting birds there yesterday evening to keep an eye out for...

First off, beware a LEAST SANDPIPER with a very Stint-like head pattern. This bird was in the northwest corner of the wetland, and had a dull rusty head and breast containing dark spots, very similar to Little Stint, with a prominent white area around the bill base. However, the legs were bright Least yellow.

Also in the northwest corner was a breeding male Semipalmated type plover with no yellow eye-ring very bold face markings (big black cheek and upper forehead, bold supercilium, and rather broad breastband) that could be a candidate for Common Ringed-Plover.
