Birders -

After checking in with the Black Scoter in Richmond Marina (distant scope views this time), I walked around Meeker Slough. Best birds were a Red Knot, Merlin, and a pair of Wilson's Snipe. At McLaughlin Eastshore State Park (aka the "Albany Plateau" where the Burrowing Owl enclosure is, just east of Albany Bulb) there was a nice intergrade male Green-winged Teal (crecca/nimia x carolinensis). This individual had both a conspicuous white vertical bar on the side of the breast and an obvious horizontal white scapular stripe.
