Point Blue Shorebird Survey--Point Pinole 11/15/16

Maren Smith and I did the Point Pinole section of the Point Blue San Francisco Bay Shorebird Survey today.  Not a lot of shorebirds in that direction--only 6 Spotted Sandpipers.  It has been similar to that the last two years.  It is just as important to know that this is not a shorebird hot spot as to know how many are in other places, so I don't mind.

While not on the new concrete 1977 pier at the point, the Peregrine Falcon was on one of the pilings slightly to the east.  The next set of pilings to the left has what appears to be an Osprey nest.  That species was not seen or heard today.
