Hi David,

No, I used a Nikon D4s.

I look into it opening an older Autosave file from v3.3.6.

Letting you know as soon as I have started that pc.

Re: Can’t install v4.1.1

Is it possible that the window that flashed past was raised by your anti-virus software – if so it may be worth scanning the installer with that AV s/w to what it says.  Also maybe try to install with the AV turned off.

I also second the suggestion to try: Right click on the installer and “Run as administrator”.

Yes, I have a 64bit workstation and was using the 64 bit version.

Please notice that Pixinsight posted only a "** Warning" message.  All that it is doing is notifying the user that there is a Tag that it didn't recognize - and therefore might not have made use of it (if the User had such expectation).

As Richard Berry pointed out, one of the significant benefits of the TIFF Format is that it is Extensible - both in big ways such as being able to utilize additional Bit Depths or Color Encodings and small ways such as additional User/Developer defined Tags.  (FITS format is very similar - it allows Users to define additional types of FITS Header Blocks with any sort of data from Geolocation to Ratings to additional Hubble Instrumentation data.)
I'm not sure whether DSS copies the TIFF Tags from Source to Results files, but it is possible that this TIFF Tag was written to the Source File by a previous Image Handling App or the Camera itself.

You may have to run the Installer as Administrator.  Numerous Windows PCs have "slightly messed-up Permissions configurations" (especially from numerous Windows Version Upgrades).

Many thanks David, I managed to find a downloadable converter. Looking forward to the native support!

Hi All,

I am trying to demonstrate DSS to a friend who has a Fuji XT20, unfortunaly although the files load ok they come back with no score and no stars (threshold set to 2%).
These are RAF files. I notice the XT20 is not in the list of supported cameras, although other Fuji XT models are.
Is there any way I can get DSS to read the files?

TIA,

Neil.

Re: RAF files not being read correctly

If you can find an application (maybe Adobe DNG Convertor) to read the files and convert to DNG or TIFF …

Re: Can’t install v4.1.1

To see whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, open a command prompt window and type “set proc” – the first line of the output will tell you whether it is 64-bit (PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=AMD64) or not.

The first and most obvious question to ask is: Are you trying to install the 32-bit version of DSS 4.1.1 or the 64-bit version?

Is it possible you are trying to install the 64-bit version into a 32-bit version of Windows 10?

Thanks

David

Hello. I’m trying to install v4.1.1 in Windows 10. I downloaded the installer and when I run it I get a window very quickly with a blue bar saying complete. It doesn’t install.
I was able to find v3.3 and it installed.
Many help is much appreciated.
Thanks

I asked what type of RAW file. Still waiting for a reply. Keep us posted.

At some point we're going to need to know what camera the image came
from.  We may have found a camera that is not properly supported.

Try uninstalling and re-installing and then a re-start. Then try it again. I've never had these issues. What type of RAW files going in?

As a further to my previous response even when I save it as a final image the black line remains, it is the latest 64 bit version of dss.
I will try restarting the computer tonight and see it it reoccurs.
It is only after the images have been registered and ready to be processed that it appears so really I can't do anything to it as the final output image has a nice black line running directly across halfway through the image.
The actual images themselves are fine and do not sho any issue, Also as I said earlier this issue only occurs in DSS not in nebulosity or Autostakkert

Corrupted file perhaps? Close it out and restart the computer and re-open. Stack again. Same thing?

IT only occurs in the final registered/stacked image, all the other images for stacking are fine.
