This is an image of NGC 6334, also known as the Cat’s Paw Nebula. I have included both an HaLRGB and SHO version of this object. It is an emission nebula and star forming region about 5,500 light years away in the constellation Scorpius. Many stars up to 10 times the mass of our sun have been born there is the past few million years. I have included links to both the HaLRGB and SHO version of this image. I think it shows the contrast between the two types of images really well.
Comments and suggestions welcomed.
