This is an image of NGC 4945. It is an edge-on spiral galaxy about 13 million light years away in the constellation Centaurus. It is roughly the same size as our Milky Way galaxy with dusty spiral arms and magenta star forming regions clearly visible. This image combines data taken from two different telescopes; a CDK17 located in Chile and a 12.5 inch RCOS located in Australia. The combined data set represents over 39 hours of exposure.
