Berkeley 11 is a trumpler (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trumpler_classification) class II 3 m open cluster located approximately 9,400 light-years away in Perseus.

While barely there, Sharpless 213 is a small, faint nebula just to the left (east) of the cluster.

Luminance – 12x300s – binned 1x1 – 60 minutes

RGB – 8x180s – 24 minutes each – binned 2x2

132 minutes total exposure – 2 hours 12 minutes

Imaged January 21st and 22nd, 2018 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.

Very nice, Dan!

I sent my CA neb to S&T and the editor asked for a higher-resolution version.  He must not have liked what he saw, cuz I heard crickets after.

Brian,

Being that they asked is probably a good thing. I don’t think they pay for images so if it is used you might not know until you get the white envelope with a couple of early copies of the magazine.
