Arp 262

Arp 262 (UGC 12856, VV 255 and 255a/b and others) is really two irregular galaxies interacting. Arp has this one in his ‘Galaxies not classifiable as S or E – Irregular Clumps.’ Both of the galaxies are located approximately 85.8 million light-years away ( in the Great Square of Pegasus.


Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1

RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2


360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours


Imaged October 30th and 31st, 2019 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
