NGC 6340

NGC 6340 (UGC 10762, PGC 59742 and others) near the bottom center is an unbarred spiral galaxy located approximately 68 million light-years away in Draco.
IC 1251 (UGC 10757, PGC 59735 and others) is a spiral above NGC 6340. Originally (2007) thought to be at about the same distance as NGC 6340, a 2014 paper (https://academic.oup.com/mnras/article/444/1/527/1017867) determines it to be at about 167 million light-years away.
IC 1254 (UGC 10769, PGC 59783 and others) is the somewhat odd galaxy to the left (east) of IC 1251.
Luminance – 35x600s – 350 minutes – binned 1x1 RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
470 minutes total exposure – 7 hours 50 minutes
Imaged over six nights in August, 2019 and January, March and April, 2020 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
