NGC 3981

Bernard Miller

Hi,

This is an image of NGC 3981. It is a spiral galaxy about 65 million light years away in the constellation Crater. Its windswept look is due to its outer arms being stripped away by an interaction with another galaxy. The data set was captured by Telescope Live using their ASA RC-1000AZ telescope. Image processing was performed by me with assistance from Adam Block who provided an excellent tutorial on processing this image.

Comments and suggestions welcomed.
