IC 239 (UGC 2080, PGC 9899 and others) is a grand spiral approximately 51 million light-years away in Andromeda.


PGC 2802360 is the faint dwarf elliptical to the left (east) of IC 239. It is considered part of the NGC 1023 group.


Luminance – 26x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1

RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2


380 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 20 minutes


Imaged November 1st and 3rd, 2019 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
