WSJT with Commander disables FTDX101 tuner

Chuck, KM3V

I am using WSJT-X with the radio set to Commander and when it switches to transmit, the FTDX101 antenna tuner turns off.  This did not happen when I let WSJT-X control the radio directly.  Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks, Chuck KM3V

+ No one has ever reported that behavior here.

+ So that I can see what's going on, please do the following:

1. set your transceiver to a clear frequency, and reduce its RF output power to its minimum value

2. on Commander's Configuration window's General tab, check the "Log debugging info" box

3. direct WSJT-X to transmit, and confirm that Commander switched your FTDX101 from RX to TX

4. direct WSJT-X to stop transmitting

5. on Commander's Configuration window's General tab, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box

6. attach the errorlog.txt file from your Commander folder to an email message, and send the message to me via

Just to follow up on this, I found that sometimes the tuner will be turned on. This is not a problem with anything commander is sending. It seems to be something to do with the FTDX101 band stacking registers. I have not figured out the magic sequence of things that get it in this mode, but I can clear it by disabling split manually and then the next tx sequence reenables split and all operates normally.
