PropView; Lat & Long in "Red"
Jerome Sodus
Hello,
Getting started in PropView. PropView is the only program installed other than the mandatory Launcher. When I start to enter even the first digit of the Latitude, the font is "Red". Also, my minus-sign is not accepted for the Longitude. My keyboard has two keys for the minus-sign; neither of them is accepted. So, it is no wonder that the Latitude/Longitude values (40.1778 & -77.1972) are not accepted. Entering N40.1778 and W77.1972 does not work; still get the "Red". If it is significant, my grid-square is FN10je. I've yet to find what I've missed. TIA for any assistance. 73 jerry km3k |

Getting started in PropView.+ The DXLab Launcher is not mandatory. It's a much more convenient way to install and upgrade DXLab applications than doing so manually. When I start to enter even the first digit of the Latitude, the font is "Red". + As described in https://www.dxlabsuite.com/propview/Help/Operation.htm#Transmitter%20panel + latitudes and longitudes should be specified in standard geographic format, e.g. 42 70' 30" W. + Striking the Enter key in the latitude or longitude textbox causes PropView to review the validity of each; invalid latitudes and longitudes are colored in red. Entering N40.1778 and W77.1972 does not work; still get the "Red". + That's not "standard geographic format". 73, |

Well, it worked finally but only after hitting the enter key.
Sequence of events: 1. Entered Latitude in DMS (42 70' 30" W) but everything was red, which remained as momentary "source of confusion" for me. 2. Entered Longitude in DMS (42 70' 30" W); that was black. 3. Hit the enter key and that action changed the red to black; also put in my Grid-Square correctly as FN10je. So all is well now that I understand what is needed. Tnx for the guidance. 73 jerry km3k |
