DXKeeper

Tim

In DXKeeper I have several Sent (1D) and Receive (4A) alpha numeric characters in the two columns. I do not know what they mean?

Thanks.

Could it be signal reports from Field Day?

Based on your report below, you configured WSJT-X for Field Day operation. When configured in this way, WSJT-X evidently logs the contest exchange you sent (1D) in the QSO's RST_SENT field, and logs the contest exchange received from your QSO partner in the QSO's RST_RCVD field.

By doing this, WSJT-X is violating the ADIF specification. The contest exchange sent should be logged in the QSO's STX_STRING field, and the contest exchange received should be logged in the QSO's SRX_STRING field. There's nothing I can do about this besides report it to the WSJT-X development team, which I have done by copying Joe K1JT on this post.

It is over four consecutive days in June 2022.

June 25, 2922
June 26, 2022 - Field Day. I did not participate as a field day member.
June 27, 2022
June 28, 2022

The modes: FT4 and FT8

Bands involved were: 15, 20, 40 and 80

DX: 1, 202 and 291

Continent: All USA

Application to log QSOs: WXJT and DXKeeper. I also used Grid Tracker as my monitoring program.

That sums it all up.

Was GridTracker used to log the QSOs to DXKeeper? If yes  that is the likely cause of the incorrect logging.

WSJTX logs contest exchanges in its adif file correctly and the UDP logged message (which GridTracker is likely listening too) has dedicated fields for contest exchanges separate from RST fields

The WSJTX Logged QSO UDP message format...
* QSO Logged    Out       5                      quint32
*                         Id (unique key)        utf8
*                         Date & Time Off        QDateTime
*                         DX call                utf8

*                         Tx frequency (Hz)      quint64

Laurie, thanks for your explanation below!

Joe K1JT, my apology for the incorrect claim that WSJT-X is violating the ADIF specification; it is GridTracker that is guilty, not WSJT-X.
