Commander and CI-V experimentation ...

It's probably never going to be integrated into my station like my
other Icoms, but I note that my (eBayed) ID-4100A dual-band radio has a fairly substantial CI-V command set. Can Commander (née CI-V Commander) be used for this sort of experimentation? -- Peter Laws | N5UWY | plaws plaws net | Travel by Train!

It's probably never going to be integrated into my station like my + You can use Commander's Messages window to send arbitrary CI-V commands to the radio. Neither of the ID-4100A manuals I downloaded include documentation for its CI-V instruction set, so I can't recommend a supported Icom transceiver to use as a starting point. 73,
