5BDXCC
Julio Peralta
I thought I remembered that there was information on making a 5 band DXCC application somewhere in the DXLab help files. I thought I had saved the location but I can’t find where I saved it if I did. I tried a search of the wiki but couldn’t find anything specific to 5 band DXCC.
Is there some information for that?

Hi Julio,
Assuming you are applying for this via LoTW, then….. Having just gone through the process via an LoTW application, you have to add a comment to the application (on the final page) to say that you are requesting a 5BDXCC award. There is no “tick box” for this, so it is done manually. Once mine had been processed, I noted that “5-Band*” had been added to my Account Status page, with the * indicating that the award had been issued.
I hope that helps….

Thanks Phil, I thought there was some procedure we were supposed to follow in DXLabs to keep the system in register with LOTW. I’ve seen no reply from Dave so maybe I’m mistaken.

I did end up having to email the DXCC desk to check, and it was only AFTER that I saw that the 5BDXCC certificate added to the summary. I feel that a specific check-box for this when submitting an application would be a good move. Putting the request in the "comments" field when making an application is fine, but it doesn't show up on the confirmation slip, so you don't know whether it went through OK. Applying for the 5BDXCC is mentioned on the ARRL site though, but isn't overly helpful, other than suggesting you put it in the "comments" field. One thing to be aware of is that you can only claim for CURRENT entities, which is why I had to work a few more on 80m, as I had a dew deleted entities there that were verified before they were deleted, so didn't count. 73 de Phil GU0SUP -----Original Message-----

However, 5BDXCC is a bit of an odd duck in that it is a one time award and can not be endorsed - unlike all of the other DXCC family awards. Julio, DXKeeper does not track 5BDXCC specifically, thus no need to keep "in sync". 73, ... Joe, W4TV On 2/9/2023 12:12 PM, Phil Cooper via groups.io wrote: Hi Julio, |

Thanks Phil, I thought there was some procedure we were supposed to follow in DXLabs to keep the system in register with LOTW. I’ve seen no reply from Dave so maybe I’m mistaken. + My response to your question is here, Julio: https://groups.io/g/DXLab/message/212876 + There is no special procedure required to "keep the system in register with LoTW" for 5-band DXCC. If you check the 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m, and 10m boxes in the "DXCC Bands & Modes" panel on the Awards tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, then DXLab's Realtime Award Tracking system will know that you are pursuing 5-band DXCC. SpotCollector will flag active stations with whom a confirmed QSO would advance your progress towards 5-band DXCC. A generated DXCC submission will include all of confirmed QSOs with whom ARRL DXCC credit would advance your progress towards 5-band DXCC. When you receive a credit slip showing that your submitted QSOs have been granted DXCC award credit, you can direct DXKeeper to update all of those QSOs to reflect "DXCC award credit granted". The same is true for other DXCC family awards, like "20m Honor Roll" or "DXCC Challenge". It is also true of IOTA, VUCC, WAS, WAZ, and WPX family awards.
