Is dxlabsuite.com down ?

I am using a VPN to a German server and it is still not possible to update apps or databases via the launcher, but I can manually download the app and database updates from dxlabsuite.com and install manually (just did it for DXK 16.9.8 and USAP, IOTA and LotW). But this takes time. Even without VPN it is possible to download the files at my present location in China and install them manually, but it is not possible to do this via the launcher (distribution site dxlabsuite, but ambersoft doesn't work either). There is always the time out message (same as with VPN). I have changed the VPN to other servers but same as with my favourite VPN (see above). So it might be that a different time out setting in the update routine might help for very poor internet connections. But something has changed, several weeks before even in China I had not any problem in doing the updates + The internet is not centrally controlled. Some countries dislike this state of affairs, and erect firewalls to limit internet traffic. I do not have the ability or time to debug internet connectivity failures. So long as most DXLab users are able to access www.dxlabsuite.com, access problems encountered by a few DXLab users have to be the result of problems caused by the local Internet Service Provider or government. + If making a change to your internet access hardware or software (e.g. cable modem, router, VPN) prevents you from accessing a site you could previously access, then logically that change was the likely cause. If you're operating from a country that is known to maintain an internet firewall, do not be surprised if access to www.dxlabsuite.com is intermittent. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Here's an update on the recent unreachability of the DXLabs suite website.
Late last week I emailed our ISP providing the URL and server IP address, asking the ISP if they were blocking it, and if so then why. This morning DXLab reported that updates were available, and they were successfully downloaded. I doubt that the "Blue Cable Brigade" at our ISP will tell us what was wrong or why, but anyway the main point is everything is working again. Thanks to everyone for your troubleshooting suggestions. Mike and all, I'm one of the folks that hasn't been able to access the website for a few weeks. + I suggest that you first ask your Internet Service Provider why you cannot access www.dxlabsuite.com + This appears to be a regional problem. One poster reported that he could not access the site from Italy, but another reported that he had no problem from Italy. 73, |

Can't connect on my go to browser or in TOR. Can connect using a VPN and on an android phone. Looks like I might need to invest in a VPN for the shack computer. Berry VK2FIG |

Here in Italy www.dxlabsuite.com is not reachable. + 96.225.31.9 is the correct IP address. The fact that you cannot connect to it means that there is a connectivity problem between your QTH and the internet. As I posted here, that's not a problem that anyone here can correct. I suggest that you contact your internet service provider. 73,

Hi Dave AA6YQ and Laurie VK3AMA,
We tried disabling the firewall and anti-malware but that didn't fix the problem. I was wondering if it was ISP-related or telco carrier-related, but we can reach the site using one Android phone but not via the other Android phone on the same telco network (Telstra), and not via the one desktop or two laptop devices or Android phone using the ISP (Telstra provide the LTE service underlying that). This is a different problem to that which we had with our ISP about a decade ago where we couldn't get half the websites we normally did because someone doing some "system maintenance" assigned our service to the wrong data centre. As I mentioned earlier, it's likely that someone somewhere will update or rollback something and it will miraculously fix itself. 73, Mike VK2IG |

Do you have a VPN you can try? If it's something in your isp path that would avoid it... On Sun, Nov 27, 2022, 8:27 PM Mike Dower <vk2ig@...> wrote: We have had the same problem for over a week. So far we have reset the wireless modem (providing WiFi connectivity for all our devices and internet connectivity via Mobile Broadband), on my laptop I have cleared the browser history/cache on Google Chrome, and cleared the DNS cache. I tried to boot into Windows "safe mode with networking", but on my Lenovo Yoga 730 laptop that disables the WiFi radio - even re-enabling it under Network settings doesn't result in connectivity so I cannot provide any results for that. Also tried Microsoft Edge and it doesn't resolve dxlabsuite.com either. Other webpages I typically use have no problems. |

Thanks Rod. It seems a small minority of users (or some of their devices) are having this problem? Anyhow, it's not critical and will probably fix itself when the next update of whatever is causing the problem occurs. Sounds like the failing devices are using the same service provider despite being via different connection mechanisms, ISP and phone service using the same Telco provider. Is that the case? I have experienced something similar with Optus here in VK. Lots of sites would be randomly non-connectable, it was a Routing issue within Optus infrastructure. This was a few years ago, in one instance I solved by switching DNS servers to the Google servers and in the most recent outage, enabled my VPN and that got me through. de Laurie VK3AMA |

Matthias DD7NT posted a similar report last week, he reported that it was resolved locally before he could try rebooting Windows into "Safe mode with networking". + If you can't reboot into "Safe mode with networking", try temporarily disabling all of your anti-malware. I know that this can be challenging, which is why I recommend rebooting Windows into "Safe mode with networking". 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

I just checked with my phone using the telecom service provider instead of our ISP and still no go, but my partner says she can reach it via her phone but not her laptop or desktop machine, so at least we can get database updates when needed. 73, Mike VK2IG |
