Would like to learn more about this software. I do listening only. + DXLab is optimized for DXing, which involves transmitting as well as receiving. See https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/GettingStarted Will any of the packages work in controlling an Icom R8600 receiver ? + Commander, DXLab's transceiver control component, does not explicitly support the R8600. It does support the R8500. It's possible that configuring Commander to control an R8500 with the appropriate CI-V address for your R8600 will work; see https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/TranceiverControlIcom + If Commander's R8500 settings (and the correct CI-V address) work with your R8600, please let me know, and I'll add an R8600 setting in the next version of Commander. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Commander (the radio control module) can control just about any Icom. 98% of what I do with the whole suite is amateur radio but that 2% is MW DXing. Although DXKeeper (the module that keeps your log) can be used quite effectively as a listener log. It's a great suite. And, because it's modular, you only need to install the parts you need, say just DXKeeper and Commander. Fair warning - it's not the *simplest* program suite in the world but Dave, who will introduce himself shortly is a GREAT resource (what with him being the author of the program and all). This is a pretty friendly list so do NOT be afraid to ask questions! Peter -- Peter Laws | N5UWY / VE2UWY | plaws plaws net | Travel by Train! |
