Spot Source Problem

Jeff, K6JW

I just transferred DXLab to a new computer. Everything is running well well except for one problem SpotCollector's Data Source entries. Access to two of the four sites is fine, but two will not connect. One, N6WS, simply fails to connect with no error message. The other, N7OD, times out with Winsock error 10060. These ran without problems on the old computer. An internet search yields a number of possible remedies for the Winsock error, but I'm reluctant to try any of them for fear of creating more problems for the new computer. Has anyone else in the group had this problem and been able to resolve it? If so, some advice and help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Set up in SpotCollector | Config | Spot Sources | Telnet DXClusters:

(enabled) (auto) (hide) (An/talk<—your choice), n6ws.no-ip.org,  7300,  n6ws, , k6jw ß note on call sign use:

Most of the time you can use your callsign only once across all the clusters after using k6jw is used for a source, the next source use k6ws-1, then for the third source use k6ws-2 and so on.  Source common clusters [of which there are several types] communicate between themselves and only allow one log-in per call sign.

You need at least one Source marked for Ann/Talk in order to post spots to the “Cluster.”

Above I list the NO SKIMMER spots for n6ws,  The n6ws host address setting for receiving spots with SKIMMER ON is:  n6ws.ddns.net

+ As a diagnostic step, reboot Windows into "Safe mode with networking", and then start SpotCollector; does it now connect to all of your spot sources?
