SpotCollector notification issue - sort of
kb8df.1959@...
I have used the notification portion of SpotCollector for several years and suddenly the process no longer works.
SpotCollector still sends the email correctly but I am getting an error in my gmail account trying to send an email to 5135039901@.... The error that I get in Gmail is below. I DON'T believe that this is a DXLab issue, but I was hoping that someone else has experienced this. The research that I have done indicates it is a blacklist issue for the Google Gmail server. Thanks! |

I have used the notification portion of SpotCollector for several years and suddenly the process no longer works. + Attachments are not conveyed here, so you'll have to paste or type the error message for us to see it. + I suggest engaging with Google email support. If you do so, please report the outcome here. 73, |

I did contact google support. The issue occurred due to the email server NIC IP address that was being used for my outgoing spots was black listed. They had a request in to get it cleared up. Eventually, after 4 weeks, it has been cleared.
The Spotcollector notifications are working as they should. As a side note, there were approximately 35 that were in the queue and it took several hours for all of them to flush through. Bill |

As a side note, there were approximately 35 that were in the queue and it took several hours for all of them to flush through. + I just reviewed the responsible code for sending email announcements. There are no "delays"; the performance you report is the result of the speed of outgoing email processing on your system. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

Once the 10 initial attempts to send fail, gmail puts them in a loop for the next 48 hours. Not sure what the frequency is after that.
Anyway...all is working as it should As always, you are a "Great man to have in a storm" - Just like Tom West Bill - AJ8B |
