Win 10 free upgrade

RVnRadio

I did the free Windows 10 x64 Home version upgrade yesterday on my W10 compliant hardware, software and drivers.  As happened before, the process went off without a hitch.  I was working out in the shop while most of the process took place.  It completed the upgrade within the two hours or so that I was off doing other things.

Hi Phil,

I haven't tried it yet. I have another 500 GB SATA drive I could try it
on. May do that this weekend.

Stan,

I believe there is a way to do the clean install with the ISO and the Win7 key. Can't recall the steps right now.

After downloading the ISO from MS a few weeks back and using a Win 7
key, it worked for me. I did the upgrade though, not a clean install.
Probably should have done a clean install.

Thanks Bill.  Ill take a look.  I too, intend to wait as long as possible, but frankly, without the security updates, etc, from W7, Ill probably switch over at the last moment.  Was just glad to see it was still available.  I find some things on W10 that I cant do with W7, but have been happy with the latter, for years.  Now that MS has let us delay their mad upgrades for a month or so, I have put that into effect, and hope they dont just ignore it.  Without that, I have no problem with w10.

Danny
