I use 2 rotators, a G-1000DXA (main) and a G-800S (small 6M). I use ERC-M with DXView to control the 1000. Works fine. I'd like also to use the ERC-M with the G-800S and have installed the rotator card. Am I able to switch between the 2 rotators with DXView alone, or will I need another software package like PstRotator to do that? Dies it integrate with DXView? Any info is greatly appreciated.

+ DXView can control a single antenna rotator, but can interoperate with the free "N1MM Rotor" to control multiple rotators; see

Hi Phil,

I haven't tried it yet. I have another 500 GB SATA drive I could try it on. May do that this weekend.

After downloading the ISO from MS a few weeks back and using a Win 7
key, it worked for me.  I did the upgrade though, not a clean install.
Probably should have done a clean install.

For what it is worth I THINK I remember reading that if you install Windows 10 and use the Windows 7 key it nullifies the Windows 7 operating system and you can't use it anymore because the key is no longer associated with Windows 7 but now Windows 10.

Re: QSO Import

Carl - WC4H

Hi Giovanni.

You can use ADIFMaster (it's free) to do this.
In the menu use:
- File / Open Filtered
- Select the date range to use
- You will then be prompted for the adif file name.  Select the file.
- It will open with just the records in selected date range.
- Use Save As to save selected records to a new adif file.
- Import the new adif file into DXKeeper.

It's a lot of steps but takes a minute or two.

NOTE:  Look under Settings / Mode and make sure all the modes you use are listed.  If not, add any missing ones else you will get errors for  bad mode.

DXK QSO distance

Andy k3wyc <a.durbin@...>

I wanted to know if my recent QSO with Mauritius Island was the longest distance QSO with my 40 m attic dipole.   I followed the  instructions  to populate path with "S" and then computed the distances.  It turned out that a previous QSO with Reunion was reported as being a couple of miles longer.   Everything worked as I had expected.

Today I noticed that new QSO which include a grid show a path distance even though propagation/antenna/path is blank.   How is path distance being computed for these QSO without needing me to set the path and force a distance compute?   In other words - if the distance can be computed now then why wasn't it for all the previous QSO?  Just curious, it's not a problem.

I did the free Windows 10 x64 Home version upgrade yesterday on my W10 compliant hardware, software and drivers.  As happened before, the process went off without a hitch.  I was working out in the shop while most of the process took place.  It completed the upgrade within the two hours or so that I was off doing other things.

Exporting ADIF by Range of Dates

KK7YC

Good morning, I have QSO's in my log from various locations, I wish to export to an ADIF by a range of dates so that I can upload to EQSL without having to upload all QSO's. Is this possible, and if so what is the process? Thanks KK7YC Ronnie

Re: QSO Import

Giovanni Carboni <iz5pqt@...>

Hi Carl,

for me it's not a problem filtering ADIF: I use grep  (or sed or awk) on any Linux machine.
Thanks anyway

"I wish to export to an ADIF by a range of dates so that I can upload to EQSL without having to upload all QSO's"

You can apply any filter to your DXK log to produce a sub-set of QSO that will be used for any following action.  You will be told the log is filtered and you choose to continue with that filter active.  To set a date range use advanced and set the UTC filter to your date range then select filter.  Confirm the QSO date range is as required then select export QSO.  Don't remove the filter when prompted.  Now select the ADIF export you want and start it.

FB Giovanni.

Then all you have to do is save the filtered file and import into DXKeeper.

JTAlertX, and now I see what is happening.    I loaded the backup dxk log I had created before the distance computation and find that distance is populated, presumably by JTAlertX, for WSJT-X QSO for which a grid was logged.  I had not noticed this before as I didn't have distance displayed in the log page display.  The DXK distance computation would have refined the distance for confirmations that included a 6 character grid and hopefully would have come up with the same answer for 4 character grids.

Thanks and 73,

Log on Dropbox

Giovanni Carboni <iz5pqt@...>

Hello folks. I decided to keep my logbook.mdb database in a Dropbox folder to protect it from computer crashes. Sometimes at startup DXKeeper complains that it cannot open it. I go to config and open it manually. It only occurs occasionally. Is it a bug?
I keep all the other databases in the C:\DXLab folder.

Same happened to me. So I keep it on the c drive and save the backup to the Dropbox.

Then I also backup entire Dxlabs folder to Google drive.
