The same thing happened to me this morning before I went to work.  Got the same error message.  I saw DXKeeper.exe and DXKeeper1428.exe.  Rebooted and DXKeeper.exe was gone.  I made a copy of DXKeeper1428.exe and renamed it DXKeeper.exe.  All started fine and it’s working.

Hi Dave, thanks for the quick response.

The value in "Backup folder" is: C:\DXLab\DXKeeper\Backups

I can open this path and see the files.  Here are the contents:

WD8IOU_938_2015-02-21_00-25-19.mdb    2/21/2015    12:19 AM
WD8IOU_938_2015-08-29_06-09-11.mdb    2/27/2015    12:30 AM
WD8IOU_938_2016-07-06_23-30-42.mdb    7/6/2016        11:30 PM
WD8IOU_938_2016-08-26_23-20-24.mdb    7/6/2016        11:30 PM

It is interesting how the last two files have the same date/time stamp.

DXKeeper Version 1428 Log Update failing

David Autry

Hi,

When I upgraded DXKeeper version 1367 to 1428 and ran it, it displayed: "This log requires significant updating; should a backup file be created beforehand"?

I selected "Yes" and then it displayed: "error: backup aborted".

Then I selected "Ok" and it displayed: "Backup failed, the log will not be updated".

Then I selected "Ok" and it displayed: "unable to open log database: ....<the full path to my log file>".

Then I selected "Ok" and DXKeeper opened without any log data being displayed.

Here is the text contained in the ErrorLog.txt file:

I then ran the previous 1367 version and the Windows Firewall asked for permission to run the program and I gave it.  Then DXKeeper ran properly and displayed my log data.

Rebooting the computer several times did not help matters.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Subject: [dxlab] Printing QSL card: "no QSOs enabled for printing" error message

Vers 14.2.4 of DXKeeper.

Trying to print one card. Right click the QSO, select "print" option, and this msg pops up.
In the QSL page it is listed and is enabled with the check mark. Select again to print and the same msg pops up.

I have successfully printed single cards in the not-too-distant past. Checked the printer configuration and all is the same.

LOTW and eQSL operations on the single QSO from the main log page worked.

I then filtered the QSOs by the single call I wanted to print. Then "Add Requested" and that QSO appeared in the QSL window.
Same result.

>>>At the bottom of the "Process QSLs and Addresses" panel on the Main window's QSL tab, there is a column of three checkboxes, each of whose descriptions begin with the words "Include QSLs to be sent via". Which of these boxes are checked? To what is "Sent Via" set in the QSL Queue entry for the QSL you're trying to print?

Using Windows Explorer, please navigate to your DXKeeper folder.

Is the file DXKeeper1428.exe present? If so, make a copy of it, and name the copy DXKeeper.exe . Then direct the Launcher to start DXKeeper.

If DXKeeper1428.exe is not present, is the file DXKeeper1424.exe present? If so, make a copy of it, and name the copy DXKeeper.exe . Then direct the Launcher to start DXKeeper.

If you don't have either DXKeeper1428.exe or DXKeeper1424.exe in your DXKeeper folder, let me know.

Subject: RE: [dxlab] Winwarbler and MMTTY problem

Just wanted all who commented on this thread to know that Dave has solved this problem. If you operate RTTY with WinWarbler, you really should read the DXLabwiki on the subject as it contains quite a bit more info and explanation than does the WinWarbler Help documentation.

As pointed out to you in a follow-up email message, Floyd, that's not correct. You cited the recommended -2125 setting for the "Mark Offset" when operating FSK as being missing from the reference documentation, but as you can see in the screenshot I sent you, the reference documentation does include this. See the last sentence in the "Mark Offset" entry in the "FSK Sub-panel" table in
<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/winwarbler/Help/SoundcardRTTYSettings.htm>

That's not to say there aren't errors and omissions in the reference documentation, but they are corrected when reported.
The lesson learned here is "when your system is working correctly, direct the Launcher to populate and create a Workspace". Then when Windows 10 decides to play Battleship with DXLab settings stored in the Windows Registry, your first step can be to direct the Launcher to recover a failing application's settings from the Workspace you created.

Re: LoTW upload error

Please use this procedure:

<https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw-help/view-accepted-qsos/>

to determine what QSOs LoTW has recently submitted.

If TQSL is submitting QSOs to LoTW but LoTW is not accepting them, then confirm that DXKeeper is specifying the correct "Station Callsign" and "Callsign Certificate". See

Dear Dave and the group,

INstalled DXKeeper and tQSL (TQSL V2.3.1)

DXKeeper is working well (step 1) but when i upload qso's to LotW I
get an (for me) unknown message:

"No error code present in response from TQSL"

When uploading a few qso's, all is working well, but when we upload
many
(>100) qso's than they never arrived in the LotW Dbase.

"No error code present in response from TQSL" means that TQSL
successfully uploaded the QSOs to LoTW.

What leads you to conclude that uploaded QSOs are not being

Subject: [dxlab] Weird behavior for WinWarbler

I recently upgraded to a new faster computer (i7, 16GB RAM, 160GB SSD, Windows 10 Pro), installed DXLabs on the new computer and imported my log .mdb file. I'm sure I have a setting (or settings) wrong somewhere. If I click on a spot in SpotCollector it sends the call to WW like it should, and also creates a blank line in DXKeeper (which I believe is correct). If I then decide to not work the station and click the X in WW it deletes the data from WW -- but fills in the blank line in DXKeeper with the data as if I had worked the station!

In the Options panel on the General tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, do you have "New QSO on DX Spot activation" enabled? If so, disable it.
