+"X not responding" is Windows-speak for "program X is waiting for input-output" -- in this case, a response from LoTW. This typically is the result of your firewall or anti-malware application not being configured to consider DXKeeper to be "safe", and thus preventing it from sending or receiving messages via the internet. Configure your firewall and anti-malware applications to consider each of your DXLab applications to be "safe".

Sync LotW QSLs not working for me

When I press this button I get a panel that says DXlab is trying to contact LoTW and almost immediately it says (DXLab Not Responding).
Once I tried to let the program run to completion but got impatient so chose to close the program.  The DXKeeper icon exits the bottom task bar but the light on the Launcher panel stays green.  Task Manager says DXKeeper is not running.  To relaunch it, I select DXKeeper button on the Launcher panel.  It turns red and then I can click again and launch DXKeeper.
Tried to run Sync LotW QSLs 4-5 times.  Once I added Ctrl with no difference in behaviour.  Any help appreciated.

Hi Dave
What is the definition of duplicate in a log (not in a contest)?
Accordingly, is it necessary to check my normal daily log for duplicates and why?
What  harm does a duplicate qso cause in my log? Or with lotw?
How can i check for duplucate in dxk?

Re: DXLab audio recording in stereo possible ?

I use DXLab's recording feature every now and then. When I want to record a pile-up scenario I get stuck.

My radio interface uses a dual-channel (stereo) sound card. Main-RX audio is on one channel, sub-Rx and my CW sidetone are in the other channel. In a pile-up scenario it would be interesting to record both channels to get the DX-station, the pile-up as well as ones own CW signal.

However, DXlab recordings on my WIN7 Station PC only contain audio from my main RX, so it is probably only single channel.

Is there any way to record both channels in stereo or to combine both channels of my soundcard into one audio stream, which could feesa single channel recording.

+ I will investigate to see if that's possible.

+ If on the Configuration window's General tab, you have the "log debugging info" box checked, please uncheck it and then restart SpotCollector. This won't cure your LoTW highlighting misbehavior, but will prevent SpotCollector from generating a large errorlog.txt file.

Re: LoTW membership not displayed in Spot Collector

Spot collector would not start. I got a popup up screen directing me to delete the spot.mdb file from the SC database and restart the program. The program works well except I no longer have the Yellow background denoting n LoTW user. The other colors work fine.

Recently spot collector stopped working. As per instructions< I deleted the spots.mdb file from the database. Upon rebooting the background yellow color identifying an LoTW member station is now white.  Any thoughts.

I'm wondering about the utility of this second feature when used in conjunction with the Audio Alarm trigger.  I want audio alarms when my station decodes a needed entity, but I would prefer to not get alarms just because a station I am decoding has decoded a needed entity.  That, to me, is a false alarm as there is nothing for me to work if I am not myself decoding the needed entity.

+ You may or may not be decoding the needed station. You may be able to decode the needed station after you appropriately rotate your directional antenna. Quality-wise, such a report from WSJT-X is arguably superior to a cluster spot, where another station is supposedly reporting a station that you need, but whose spot notes may say "no copy in Arizona" or "pse QSY to 80m".

+ Whether a spot of a needed station that you can't currently copy comes from WSJT-X or from the cluster network, it bears valuable data: the needed station is QRV on a particular band and mode, and is being copied at a particular location. My first reaction to such a report would be to direct PropView to generate a forecast to see if propagation between me and the needed station is likely to improve over the next hour or three.  I would then direct SpotCollector to display previous activity by the needed station to identify any pattern of operation, e.g. starting out on one band and then QSYing to another; this information might lead me to stake out a frequency range in the appropriate mode.

Perhaps there is something about this arrangement that I don't understand.  It would seem that the preferred behavior would be to only trigger the alarm if I have decoded the needed entity.

I just rebooted Win10 and launched only DX Keeper. Taskbar locks on UNhide. Minimized both capture and main window of DX Keeper and autohide works again. Or exit DX Keeper and autohide works again...strange indeed.

Is there a simple procedure to uninstall DX Keeper then reinstall without losing any settings or QSO's?

+ Yes, because the settings are stored in the Windows Registry and uninstalling doesn't delete your log file. Still, you should populate and save a workspace, and backup your log file.

+ However uninstalling and re-installing DXKeeper is no more likely to cure this Taskbar behavior than discharging a shotgun in your car's engine compartment will cure an empty gas tank -- and doing so has the potential to cause damage far worse that a flakey task bar.

Calling MS is like beating my head against the wall. hi hi

+ For the record, I have received assistance from Microsoft technical support on several occasions. The alternative is to perform a Google search with your symptoms as keywords. The behavior could be the result of your settings in Windows.
