Is there a way to have DXKeeper the city and/or county in the QTH column??

+ No. As documented here

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Items.htm#QTH

+ DXKeeper uses the QTH item to record your QSO partner's city or town.

Hey folks.  I have a 7610 that works perfectly with DXLab on my desktop.  I am attempting to get a 7300 to work on the same computer.  At present, the 7300 works great on a laptop with DXLab using the main computer's database.  Just have to be careful to have one or another situation, and not both.

The main computer, 7610 uses COM Ports 4 and 5.  Set up 7300 on the laptop to also use COM Ports 4 and 5.  Using VSPD to create virtual COM 5.

+ That won't work. You should not use VSPD or any other "virtual port" software in this scenario.

A. When you connect your IC-7300 to your PC, it's device driver will create a virtual COM port for transceiver control. Configure Commander to consider your IC-7610 and IC-7610 as primary transceivers that you can choose, or configure one to serve as your Primary transceiver and one as your Secondary transceiver. See

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/Help/ControllingMultipleRadios.htm

Went into Commander and set up for 2 computers.  Parameters for COM Ports are the same for both rigs.

When plugging in 7300 to USB and starting DXLab get nothing - no frequency readout etc.

Is this even possible?  I really don't want to create another set of COM Ports specifically for the 7300 using virtual software.  I believe the ICOM driver software is the same for both rigs.  Please check me on this.  I do have an old CV-17 that is not in use.

Appreciate any suggestions.

I had this error for the first time - shortly after installing Gridtracker (earlier this week). The DXKeeper error code was:
2021-06-08 19:07:21.192 > Common.GetFileFromURL failed: invalid request, error code = -2146697204

The issue seems to self-resolve after terminating Gridtracker. In one case, I had to wait several hours for it to begin working again. I believe it also affected "Sync LoTW QSO's".

+ Thanks, Rob; that's very helpful.

I did, but Gridtracker was not updating from LOTW at the time.

+ Thanks, Tim. How do you know that GridTracker wasn't downloading from LoTW at that time? Have you reviewed its source code?

Missed that little gem.

+ Check to be sure that your QSOs each specify the correct myQTHID.

GD,

Is there a way to have DXKeeper the city and/or county in the QTH column??

For instance G4CCZ QTH is logged as Woodham rather than Woodham, England or just England.

Thanks for the advice.

Need some help,

No Data in VUCC Realtime Award Tracking

I'm helping a friend (Really) as he recently turned on Realtime Award Tracking (RAT) for VUCC.

However, after selecting the appropriate options in the "Awards" Tab DXK config panel for VUCC, I get no data in any of the columns.

He's running the latest DXKeeper Ver 16.1.5

So far:

1) I've enabled VUCC tracking by checking off the "Bands" and the "RAT" option in the "VUCC Bands & Modes" panel on the "Awards"
Tab.

2) I've checked off the "Worked", "Requested" and "Confirmed" options and have set "Band" to "ANY" in the "VUCC" Tab under RAT.

3) I've restarted and have done a recompute from the "Check Progress" tab in DXK.

But I get "0" grids in the VUCC Progress report.

Other awards he's tracking seem to work OK with data appearing as it should.

Any ideas what I missed?

+ Has you friend defined one or more myQTHs? Is the VUCC box checked in each myQTH from which QSO's made are valid for VUCC? If not,
check the appropriate myQTH VUCC boxes, and then invoke the Recompute function.

Re: SpotCollector propagation prediction field population being blocked

Dave AA6YQ

+ AA6YQ comments below

After watching Dave's excellent DXLab suite presentation at IDXC 2021, I decided to experiment with a feature I hadn't used before; "Enable SNR & Probability prediction" in SpotCollector. While I have used SpotCollector, DXView, and PropView for years, I had not attempted this specific configuration before.

I have configured the applications as described here: https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/SpotDatabasePropagationPrediction All applications and databases were current as of 6/4/2021. My SpotCollector display now includes SPSNR, SPProb, LPSNR, LPProb, and ReqSNR columns.

* The problem I'm experiencing is that the fields mentioned above do not populate in the SpotCollector display as new spots arrive. If I hover over one of the fields, I get a message such as "SPSNR: there is no predicted current hour short path SNR for NB6GC", for example.

** I know this is configured correctly in DXLab as it all works fine when the PC is booted in "Safe Mode with Networking" OR if I disable my security software after a normal boot.

If I double click on any new spot, i.e. NB6GC, the location fields are filled in on the DXView "info" window, the path is shown in DXView World Map, and the Parameters and Prediction (graph, etc.) are populated in the PropView window, i.e. a prediction is launched as expected (even with security software active).

My security software has long been configured with exclusions for the DXLab components. Every other feature I've tried works correctly. I believe there is something "special" about this particular interaction of DXView, PropView, and SpotCollector, i.e. there is some application, service, or port which my blanket security exclusion of the DXLab suite components (including Voacapw components) is not properly allowing. Is there a "special" port or service used in this feature which is not otherwise used? Is some application NOT included in the DXLab directory hierarchy involved in this prediction?

+ No. PropView starts VOACAP forecasts with a batch file, and the DXLab applications all interact via DDE. None of the interactions depend on TCP or UDP, so there are no IP addresses or ports involved. Do be sure that all of your DXLab applications are running at the same level of Windows administrative privilege; unless you have your DXLab applications installed in what Windows considers a "protected" folder - like C:\program files (x86) - there is no need for any DXLab application to hold administrative privilege.

I’m having an issue with Pathfinder software. In the past, with a friend’s help, I had made one of the buttons near QRZ / QRZCQ to appear as Live-Stream, and click it, opened up a map where I could see the last QSO I made.

That friend of mine is currently unreachable, so any help/idea on how to set it up again?

+ Your issue is not with Pathfinder - your issue is that you don't remember the URL of the mapping site you previously used.

+ Note that DXView can display the location of your QSO partner on its build-in world map, on the DX Atlas world map, or on Google Earth. See

# More AA6YQ comments below

I have 10 QSO's that I imported from another logging program that DXKeeper thinks are broken, yet none of the Visible fields in the log seem to be showinfg the RED or BLUE font.

If I click 'Edit' for any of these QSO's then it will not let me 'Save' them.

They appear to have been uploaded to LoTW perfectly.

Is there another way to find what it thinks is wrong or to get it to re-check the entries ?
