Hello all,
Just installed the latest Commander Rig Control Program
V8.8.8 and notice their is no mention of
Elecraft K3 in the drop down listing on the General tab of the Commander
Configuration window.
The K2 is on the list but K3 seems to have dissapeared.
Any help please.

What version number appears in the title bar of Commander's Main
window?

Dave
Hello Dave. HNY.
V 8.8.8 is shown at top of title bar of Commander,s Main window.
I downloaded it as part of a full install of all the DXLabs suite onto my
Win7 home edition pc. From the KY1V site.
Funny as Commander,s Launcher showed 8.8.8 installed and available.

Anyway I uninstalled and downloaded from DXLab site and all now
satisfactory.

Must have loaded the eary version but it had seemed to have not changed the
version number.

Thanks, Vic; I'll check the Radios.txt file in the Commander upgrade on
the KY1V site.

Yes, it should. If you want to be certain, depress the CTRL key while
clicking "Sync LotW QSLs"; that will direct LotW to report all

RTTY. I did notice that as I switched from CW to Data AFSK A, Commander immediately followed the changes but WW remained in CW. I cycled through the modes using the K3 and when I got to Data AFSK, WW switched to RTTY mode.

I know this is something simple that I've missed, but I can't figure it
out.

Using a K3, all the most recent DXLab software, XP SP3.

K3 is set to CW mode. When I start WW, I get an error message that says
"The transceiver's RTTY submode is set to FSK but WinWabler's soundcard
RTTY is configured for AFSK". When I check the data mode on the K3, it
is set to AFSK A, which is what I use for RTTY. I acknowledge the error
and everything proceeds to operate correctly within WW.

What have I failed to configure, or configured incorrectly?

right of "Mode: RTTY" in Commander's Mode panel?

Ron,

Are you using LP-Bridge, by any chance? It seems to have some issues
tracking the data sub-mode. I've been meaning to report this to N8LP
(there's a problem with the DSP filter settings too), but my supplier
says the round tuits are on back order...

Bill,

If you do regular uploads to LoTW or better yet real time logging to eQSL you may find your missing Q's there. Those services don't record all of your log fields and thus aren't intended to serve as log backups but as a last resort they can be a lifesaver and DXKeeper can usually fill in most of the missing information.

Greetings

First, thanks Iain for pointing out the obvious about the cluster command.
Worked first time, every time.

Now for the condition and question.

I lost the computer just after I did a "Sync LoTW QSLs" and before a backup.
In other words, I updated QSLs received from LoTW in my log and then lost
the system.

Question: I know there is a date last downloaded maintained somewhere,
either in LoTW or DXLab. How do I reset this date back to 10 Jan 2011 and
download the LoTW Q's from LoTW ?

That date is maintained in your log file. On the Main window's QSL tab,
what date now appears beneath the "Sync LotW QSLs" button?"

Re: Learning Opportunity!!

OK, I have never used "Recover" so didn't realize that it creates an extra "obsolete" file every time it's used. If you are searching through a lot of old backups looking for missing QSO's that certainly would create a bunch of unnecessary files that could indeed be confusing. So, once again you are right :-)

73, Rich - W3ZJ

Dave wrote:

Using Recover is appropriate when you plan to discard the current log and revert to a backup. The first thing Recover does is change the filename of your current log to include "obsolete".

When mining previous backups for inadvertently deleted QSOs, the current log is being retained -- it's set aside while you hunt for the missing QSOs by opening a succession of backups, and then reloading.

In the "find and restore lost QSOs" scenario, I don't see how the Recover function can do anything other than add steps and the potential for confusion.

Hi folks,

I selected some new sources which work fine. I looked at the source window
when
starting them and
I noticed that they all request me to enter my location. Does spot collector
enter a SET/LOCATION
telnet command? If not should it? If I enter the SET/LOCATION command as my
Initial Cluster

Command and check the enable box, will this command be sent to all of the
telnet
clusters. Right now I
am ignoring the request but I do try to be a good netizen.

By default, SpotCollector does not submit a SET/LOCATION command on your
behalf. If you wish it to do so, you can use the "Initial Cluster command"
panel on the Configuration window's "Spot Sources" tab.
