Backup API?

Hi,
I recently had to reinstall windows, so my data was preserved (and it was backed up), but I didn't have the registry entries associated with the workspace backed up.  If I have to do it manually, chances are it won't get done.   Is it possible to control the backup activities, such as backing up the workspace and backing up the DB, through the API? I want to put this on a schedule so they are backed up as files along with the rest of the files associated with DXLab.

Thanks in advance,

I have not tried that yet as when I try to boot in Safe mode my hdmi monitor does not display anything so I can't see the options.  Need to hook up another monitor.

hello Dave,

may I respectfully ask to add one or more digital rows customizable by
the user in addition to the existing one that you are currently
modifying to "replace PSK with any digital mode"?

Being a RTTY enthusiast, my actual needs would be perfectly satisfied by
the actual existing row that is going to be modified, but maybe other
users could be interested to follow their progresses in more than one
digital mode.

Thank you.

I have the entire DXlabs directory marked safe. I will try adding the PV app exe as well. The sites were not down as I could connect to the sites pushing the go buttons.

+ What happened when you rebooted Windows into "Safe Mode with Networking" and then started PropView? This is the definitive test for identifying interference from an anti-malware application automatically started when Windows is booted normally.

<https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw-help/was-award-credit/>

+ Providing realtime award tracking support for WAS endorsements will likely be the next major project after the new "replace PSK with any digital mode family for realtime DXCC award tracking" functionality is publicly released. I'm thinking that this subset of digital modes will be trackable in realtime for WAS endorsements: FT4, FT8, JT9, JT65, RTTY, PSK31, and PSK63.

Somehow the 2 script lines were conjoined in my message below. Here they are in properly-separated form:

filter (band='80m') and (mode in ('RTTY','PSK31','FT4','FT8'))

Report US_States <ReportsFolder>US-States 80m Digi <date>.txt

While I see that there are not separate awards for individual bands, it would still be nice to be able to look at my progress in the software per-band, regardless of what the award is.

+ There are WAS awards for working all states on a specific band, and there are WAS awards for working all states in a specific mode. There are no WAS awards for working all states on a specific band in a specific mode.

+ Development priority goes to supporting the awards as they are defined.

I'd make the same argument for 60m, even if there is no award.

+ 60m QSOs are not accepted for ARRL awards because the band is too small for DXing. I agree with their rationale, and so don't plan to introduce capabilities to DXLab that would encourage DXing on 60m.

Is there some other way I should accomplish this?

+ Yes, by using a 2-line script like this one to invoke the US_States progress report:

filter (band='80m') and (mode in ('RTTY','PSK31','FT4','FT8')) Report US_States <ReportsFolder>US-States 80m Digi <date>.txt

+ You can choose the specific digital modes of interest. You can also append additional Filter-and-Report lines to generate progress reports for other band-mode combinations of interest.

+ For more about script functionality, see

ClubLog keeps a very good database and I had a Mount Athos QSO SV2AUA/SY  that wasn't in their database and I supplied them with a scan of the qsl that I had. They are very helpful and a valuable resource.

You can filter your log page display to display the QSOs you want to consider. Then use the check progress report. It will ask if you want to remove the filter, say no.

When trying to select options in the drop-down menus in the DXKeeper Realtime Award Progress, WAS tab, it seems I am unable to select for example, 80m and Digital.

If I select 80m, it sets mode to Mixed.

If I then try to select mode to Digital, it sets Band to ANY.

+ That's correct behavior. See rule #9 in

I find that if wsjt-x and jtalert are running, Pathfinder can take a very, very long time to launch. I have 32G of RAM, an SSD and a fast i7 processor. OS is win 10.

When ft8 stuff is not running, Pathfinder loads normally.

+ Please do the following:

1. reboot Windows into "Safe Mode with Networking"

2. start WSJT-X and JTAlert

3. start Pathfinder; any change in its startup time?

Sent earlier today.

+ In the "Prediction URLs" panel on the Prediction tab of PropView's Configuration window, PropView makes it easy to check forecasts for sunspot numbers, solar and geomagnetic conditions, and the SFI and A-index by sending a specified URL to your web browser. The screenshots you sent me showed that when you attempted to view two of these forecasts, the response was "not found".

+ Since both of the URLs in question were working as of 30 seconds ago, there are several possibilities:

1. the web sites were "down" when you tried to view them, but have since recovered

2. your anti-malware is preventing PropView from interacting with your web browser

+ If attempting to view these forecasts still generates an error message, then reboot Windows into "Safe Mode with Networking", start PropView, and see if you can now view the forecasts. If your attempt succeeds, then configure your anti-malware to consider PropView (and your other DXLab applications) to be "safe".

Dave, NO messages are present there.
After several other checks I discovered that being the QSOs imported from JTAlert and WSJT-X the message was coming from JTAlert "QSL message" window that keeped it. Cancelling it there everything is now OK.

* Yes, when you're logging QSOs from another application, you must check that application's settings as well.

In DxKeeper/QSL when I click "Add Requested" ONLY for LotW (NOT for eQSL) in the QSOs to upload to LotW, in the "QSL msg" field a message appears that I used once but that I DO NOT want is becoming a default one. I know that I can edit it, in the QSO and cancel it, before doing the upload, but I wish to cancel this message as a default.
I have not found **where** to intervene (it is for example not in the capture window).

+ the "Default QSL Message" is selected or specified on the Configuration window's Defaults tab.
