Re: need way to talk to 2 rigs same time

i have commander talking to a ts-990 and a IC-9700, i also have 2 instances of wsjtx running, one for the 990 and one for the 9700.

i realize i can use commander as one control for the 990 and a serial port for the 9700, the issue arises when i work someone say on SSB with the 9700, dxkeeper doesnt know the correct frequency to log and defaults to the 990 frequency obviously, so i have to always correct the log entry frequency and mode.

if i use commander to control both rigs and direct both instances of wsjx to get info from commander then both instances show the same frequency of whichever rig is selected in commander, this aint good either cause my outgoing spots are at the wrong frequency for one rig all the time.

I wish there was something like "dx lab suite commander rig1" and "dx lab suite commander rig2" to direct wsjtx to query commander for a specific radio, or maybe i can set it up for 2 different network ports to talk to 2 different rigs thru commander but i dont have any idea how.

any help would be appreciated.

+ DXLab's primary focus is support for DXing, which rarely involves making two QSOs simultaneously. You can rapidly switch among up to 4 primary transceivers, as described here:

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ControlMultipleRadios>

+ If you have WSJT-X directly interoperating with DXLab, as described in

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/GettingStartedwithK1JTModesDirect>

+ you can setup a second computer running Commander and WSJT-X with another transceiver. Configure that instance of WSJT-X to interoperate with the instance of SpotCollector running on your first computer, and you'll be able to log QSOs from either instance of WSJT-X to the instance of DXKeeper running on your first computer. The instance of SpotCollector running on your first computer will display active JT-mode stations reported by both instances of WSJT-X. SpotCollector can theoretically handle up to 16 instances of WSJT-X, but I've not personally tested more than 2.

Where can I get the latest Bandmode file. Mine is "..-2019-05-02.txt".
(and Downloading and Install page show "...2017-12-27.txt")

+ Bandmodes 2019-05-02.txt is the latest sub-band definition file. If you've updated to the any version of SpotCollector released after 2019-05-02, this file should be present in your SpotCollector folder.

+ I've updated the reference in SpotCollector's entry in the table in

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/download.htm#Availability%20announcements>

+ Thanks for pointing out the stale reference, Tuck!

my file isBandMode 2019-05-02 .txt INSTEAD OF BandMode 2019-05-03.txt. i followed your instructions and that is now the pathname
in the sub band def. window. it was just bandmode.txt before thank you so much.

+ The correct filename is indeed

BandMode 2019-05-02 .txt

+ Updated sub-band definition files are occasionally included with new versions of SpotCollector; Joe W4TV developed the most recent
one.

+ Some users customize their sub-band definition files, so the name of the updated file included with a SpotCollector update has the
date appended. This approach enables users to either adopt the new file "as is", or selectively incorporate changes into the
sub-band definition file they've been using with no risk that an existing file customized by a user will be replaced by when they
update SpotCollector.

i am sure i missed this sometime in the past but can someone tell me where to find how to get spot collector to not show a spot on
14.074 as not RTTY but FT8 instead same with 18.100 or 18.101 as FT8 and NOT cw .? been looking in the config controls on each
program but have not found it.
i seem to recall i have to go into maybe the config file in the root dir of dxlab ????

+ Confirm that your SpotCollector folder contains the file

BandMode 2019-05-03.txt

+ In "Sub-band Definition" panel near the bottom of SpotCollector's Configuration window's General tab, click the Select button, and
use the "Open" window that appears to navigate to your SpotCollector folder and select the file

BandMode 2019-05-03.txt

+ The modes of spots that arrive after your complete the above action will be interpreted using the entries in

BandMode 2019-05-03.txt

+ The format of this file is described in

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/SubbandDefinitions>

I have noticed that when I enter the callsign of a DX station in DXK and strike DXCC, the table in DXV info is incomplete.

It appears that it is disregarding FT8 contacts that have been confirmed in the DXK display.

+ The progress grid on DXView's Main window is populated with the same information that populates the Progress Grid at the bottom of the DXCC tab of DXKeeper's Realtime Award Tracking window.

I have also noticed that when I sync QSLs with LoTW, the report does not indicate that the QSL resulted in a new confirmation of

any kind, even though it is a challenge point or a new mode for that entity.

+ Please place your log file (pathname specified in the Log panel on the Configuration window's Log tab) in a zip archive, attach the zip archive to an email message that describes an entity-band or entity mode that is confirmed but not shown as confirmed in DXView's progress grid, and send the email message to me via

I do have this checked in the JTAlerts and am still not able to get the callsigns to flow over until after I log the QSO. Is there another setting within DXLabs?

+ No. If you are logging the QSO via JTAlert, JTAlert is responsible for directing DXView to perform a "lookup" of the callsign in question.

I have done a recompute in DXK and there is no change in the RAT Progress Table.

  1. Consider checking the DXKeeper/DXView/Pathfinder Lookup on new DX Call box (note the alternatives to individually direct DXKeeper, DXView, or Pathfinder to perform lookups)

Ok. So i should set up a virtual port and use win4k suite.

+ No one here has yet reported that Win4IcomSuite will support RSBA1. It has been reported that Win4IcomSuite does not support the "CW speed" CAT command, which while likely not needed for RSBA1, indicates that Win4IcomSuite does not support all Icom CAT commands; perhaps there are one or more unsupported Icom CAT commands required by RSBA1. I suggest that you ask its author, Tom VA2FSQ.

Can you elaborate a bit more on where the dxlab and rsba1 should be connected and how?

+ I cannot, as I have never used RSBA. Perhaps another member of this community can answer your question. It'd be nice to place this information in a new "Getting Started with DXLab" article, if we can obtain it.
