Don't use McAfee.  I was running McAfee until one day it decided that DXKeeper was a virus and deleted it.  I called McAfee and asked how to recover it from quarantine and they said it was not quarantined, it had been deleted.  Of course I had the log file backed up but it was a pain to recover.  I removed McAfee and they gave me a refund.  I am depending on Windows Defender for now.

Lost my hard drive couple of days ago. Reinstalled new HD and windows 10. Then reinstalled DXLabs software. Is there any to re populate my log. As of now it is gone. I have been using Lotw and Clublog. Don't know if that will help creating new log in DXKeeper. Any suggestions?

+ You can recover some basic information about each QSO from LoTW:

callsign
frequency
band
mode
QSO date and time
propagation mode
satellite name (if the propagation mode is SAT)
station callsign
LotW upload status
LotW confirmation status

+ Step-by-step instructions are here:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/LotWRecoveringLostQSOs

+ A free backup-and-recovery application and one mouse click in DXKeeper would have prevented your loss of log information. Another couple of mouse clicks in the Launcher would have prevented the need to configure your DXLab applications after re-installing them. See

Thanks for the response. When I connect directly to the 7160's port (COM4) all works normally. When I'm connecting through Win4Icom (COM21), I can track frequency, change frequency and change mode via the Commander Main window. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the spectrum waterfall. The window stays blank when it's connected to the emulated port.

+ That's because when Win4Icom is "in the connection path", Commander does not receive Spectrum-Waterfall data from your transceiver.

+ Win4Icom does not fully emulate the connected Icom transceiver. Besides the Spectrum-Waterfall CI-V commands, it also fails to convey the CI-V commands that query and report CW keying speed; there are likely other gaps.

+ If Commander is not directly connected to your transceiver, the first step in debugging any transceiver control problem is to directly connect Commander to your transceiver.

The same thing happened to me a few years ago. I got my log back from LOTW. It took many hours but it did work. It is also possible to get your log back from ClubLog. Since then I keep two backups, one in the cloud and one on a USB-stick. :-)

John,
I tried as you suggested but it had no effect on the spectrum waterfall display.  It stays blank.  As I told Dave, things go back to normal when I don't load Win4Icom and reset the port to Com4.  It's really not a deal buster, one waterfall is really all that's needed but I'm curious.  I think once I've dealt with this I may try the Icom IQ output addition.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Not true. No 3rd party thigs can catch everything. I assume you have heard of 0 day flaws. The only real answer is a good backup strategy and not click on  requests from UIC. Good idea to not run in Admin mode either.

You get what you pay for.     It actually causes more issues with ham radio applications as they have a small user base, and often the developers can't afford to get a M$ certification for the program.    That, on top of the recent news that Win10 (and probably Win 7 & 3) have security vulnerabilities that were never noticed, tends to make a third-party firewall a good investment.

I'm sure I'm going to be embarrassed when I get this worked out, but at the moment I'm at a loss. The Commander's spectrum waterfall display has quit working. The window opens but it is blank, nothing showing except a wite area at the top and black at the bottom. The frequency window is blank as well but the band change buttons work. I've been using Win4Icom but I think Commander was working normally before. Their waterfall display works fine as does WSJT-X. Everything else seems to be working. Commander displays the Main and Sub VFOs and sends commands to the radio. I'm sure there is something in the interplay of programs that I'm missing but it's not apparent. Any hints would be appreciated.

+ Please connect Commander directly to the COM port associated with your transceiver's USB CI-V port. Can you change your transceiver's frequency and mode from Commander's Main window? Does Commander's Main window track frequency and mode changes made from you transceiver's front panel?

Re: Getting only CQ spots in SpotCollector?

Dave AA6YQ

+ AA6YQ comments below

In WSJT-X I have set to only showing CQ calls. But the SpotCollector shows also spots from non-CQ transmissions.
Is it possible limit spots to only CQ-calls in SpotCollector?

+ In the current version of SpotCollector, the SQL expression

NOTES LIKE '*CQ*'

+ would show all Spot Database Entries for active stations whose most recent spot notes contain the word CQ

+ If the "Record individual spot information" box is checked on the Configuration window's "Spot Dtatabase" tab, the CQ expression

CUMULATIVE LIKE '*CQ*'

+ would show all Spot Database Entries for active stations, any of whose spot notes contain the word CQ.

I have looked at creating a custom SQL filter for this, but I can't find any SQL field which contains the CQ message.

+ However, on receiving a report from WSJT-X that a station calling CQ has been decoded, the current version of SpotCollector does not insert "CQ" into the Spot Database Entry's spot notes.

+ I have extended the next version of SpotCollector to insert CQ, CQ DX, CQ RD, CQ RU, or CQ TEST into an Entry's spot notes when WSJT-X reports that it has decoded a station issuing one of these.

Chris try this , make sure you got the right ports opened up in Commander then in Commander click on CONFIG then the GENERAL tab then the RESET button. If I use W4I or SDR CONSOLE then come back to COMMANDER SPECTRUM I have to do that

I think I figured it out:  under Radio Settings, check “None” for Split Operation and set your two rig VFOs for XMIT on 1840 and RX on 1908.  Seems to do the trick on my dummy load.  Now have to try it out at SR for JA.

I can understand that DXLab is not supporting non-existant awards. Is ok to me.

The only thing I want is to monitor 60M for new DXCC using Spotcollector + RBN.

But scripts like
Bandworked="N" and Band="60M"
or
Countryworked="N" and Band="60M"

do not what I thought they would do.

+ As I have stated, DXLab does not support realtime award tracking for DXCC on 60m - a non-existent award.

Wikipedia is not up to date
I worked 80 countries in one month, heard many more. Most of them FT8 but also cw&ssb.
Clublog 'clubleages' shows 166 countries on the no. 1 @ VERON.

+ In addition to the 61 countries it shows with band allocations, the Wikipedia article shows another 19 countries that allocate channels - all small, narrow allocations.

So about 50% of the DXCC's is able to work on 60M.

+ Most with very small frequency allocations.

Some suppport from the app would be nice.

+ With respect to operation on 60m, you have the full support of DXLab except realtime award tracking for DXCC and WAS awards. This includes realtime award tracking for the IOTA, Marathon, WAZ and WPX awards.
