As far as I know you can create a custom filter. So far I only had this issue once when I wanted to import some contacts I had made using my Raspberry Pi and some missed contacts in any logging system.
But I also had issues somehow that after importing one item had signal reports and the other had just the contact.

Spot Collector filter failures

Paula

Spot Collector just started misbehaving with regard to displaying and filtering spots. At first I had no spots displaying, though I could see that spots were coming in as the bottom horizontal scroll bar moved. I did a Ctrl|X to clear any filters and that caused the spots to display. However, the following issues persist:

1. If I close Spot Collector and then reopen it, the default appears to be to display no spots. I must do Ctrl|X to restore the display.
2. None of the preconfigured filters work anymore. For example, if I enter F* and click Call, I see no spots beginning with F (yes, there are such spots in the overall display!). If I enter F and click DXCC, I see no F spots. In each instance, the Spot Collector display shows no spots until I clear the filter.

I have cleared the database of any spots but that hasn't had any impact on the above behavior once more spots arrive.

What else should I be looking at to T-shoot this? Thanks!

Re: Needed not being colored in WSJTX

I have the same problem. I tried to configure this direct WSJTX <--> Spot Collector interaction (w/o JT-Alert) couple of weeks ago and Spotting & QSO Logging worked ok but no colors on the WSJTX display and also double clicking on a row in Spot Collector does nothing in WSJTX. There was something like "Network connection can not be opened at this time (10051)" in Errorlog.txt. I'm not at my station now, so I can't give more exact information.

I immediately tried  "safe mode with networking" but WSJTX was not wery happy about that. It could'n open MicroHam sound interfaces and com-ports. Now the above mentioned line in Errorlog.txt was replaced by something like "No suitable WSJTX session found".

I use only the Win10 built-in firewall and virus protection and I tried to open tarffic, exclude .exe files and folders and finally turned firewall and virus protection off completely (after disconnecting the PC from the Internet) but nothing worked.

I also monitored the traffic at the loop back interface (127.0.0.1) and there were UDP messages (one per spot) to the port configured in WSJTX but no other traffic (I didn't log QSOs at that time).

I'll be watching this thread.

I am not getting any color displays in dxkeeper or spotcollector for eqsl, lotw or eqsl/lotw. Can anybody help me with this part of the display?

+ Let's start with the Database tab of DXView's Configuration window. Are the eQSL and LoTW databases shown as installed?

Hi Dave,

I didn't have "Lookup missing location info" enabled in SC.

Now everything is working right, including the SQLs.

Many thanks for taking so much time with my questions!

I was using these examples to make some filters for states. But when
looking at the Primary field in SC there are no entries. How
does SC know what state a spotted call is in?

+ DXKeeper's USAP database provides the US State of every callsign
issued by the US Federal Communications Commission. If you have
this database installed (check the Databases tab of DXView's
Configuration window) , then enabling the "Lookup missing location
info" option in the General panel on the General tab of SpotCollector's
Configuration window will cause SpotCollector to query the
USAP database for the state of US callsigns, and populate the Spot
Database's Primary field with the resulting information.

I have DYMO set up in QSL Config for single labels, but when I click on print either nothing happens or it will spit out 1 or 2
blank labels, until I hit "Print" a second or third time. Yesterday, it printed about 5 blanks total and then 3 of the label I
wanted. Only once since I got it has it worked as expected when I clicked on "Print".

+ Thanks. Are you attempting to print QSL labels, address labels, or self-addressed labels?

It is green and it is the only source I am using. All others are Red.

+ Thanks. Please do the following:

1. On the General tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

2. Terminate SpotCollector

3. Start SpotCollector

4. After SpotCollector has initialized and 3 or 4 new Spot Database Entries have been created with new callsigns reported by WSJT-X,

4a. On the General tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

4b. Attach the errorlog.txt file from your SpotCollector folder to an email message, and send that message to me via

I can make QSOes and SC is using WSJTX as the spot source so they must be connected.

It is just coloring that is not working.

+ In the "Spot source status" panel at the top of SpotCollector's Main window, what color is the right-most circular indicator?

NO, but that is because nothing works there. It is safe mode and it is networking because I can use the browser. Everything is working there. It thinks I am trying to use COM ports rather than Commander. It asks for reconfiguration and I also have 2 monitors and everything is like starting over again. I did do reboot and it still does not do the coloring. Every other thing is working fine.

It is just coloring that is not working.

I may have to just watch SC to determine who to call and live with that. It is not that big of a feature if I have SC on another screen. In any case clicking on something in SC sets up the messages but it does not enable TX so I have to do two things anyway. I might as well live with just clicking on the messages in the decode monitor.

I am confused as to what happened but have spent over 8 hours today playing with it and have not found the answer.
