ADIF file write on shutdown - request.

Jim - KR9U

As I'm working 6 meters this season, I started using the GridTracker https://tagloomis.com/grid-tracker/ program as an addition to WSJT/JTAlert and PSK Reporter.  I know, right?
Grid Tracker must read an ADIF file to keep current on displayed grids worked/confirmed, which it can do on startup which is configured in the setup optoins.
I don't believe it is possible for Grid Tracker to read a DXKeeper log.
Could a simple option to create a standard ADIF be added to DXKeeper to accomplish this?   \

FW: [DXLab] Print QSL labels

Dave AA6YQ

+ AA6YQ comments below

In the past I have created a queue of labels to be printed for paper cards received when I checked in the cards and then printed the
labels.

I ran out of cards and didn't create the labels when I recorded receipt of the cards. Is there a way to search for confirmed
contacts with paper cards received but no label created so that I can print the labels when I get more cards?

+ Filter the Log Page Display with the SQL expression

(QSL_RCVD in ('Y','S','V')) and (QSL_SENT <> 'Y')

Hi Jack,

which WSJT-X option do you have set for the group "Settings->Radio->Mode"?

Very pleased to see this discussion. Sometime back I used a Yeasu FT-920 with SignalLinkUSB to the mike port and worked fine. Recently decided to get back active again but decided to switch to the data port to free up mike and to start using DxLab Suite. Although the FT-920 is in DATA mode, after transmitting, the 920 changes to USB.

+ Does the post-TX switch from DATA to USB happen if Commander is not running?

Commander -> Config -> General -> Radio panel

In the bottom left corner set "Log Mode for Data-L or Data-U" ...
one of the many options is FT8

Radio is an FT-450.

I am trying to write a command such that when radio is on 6m, IPO is off (premap on).

Any other band IPO on (premap off).

this would occur automatically when band is changed.

+ There is no means of automatically invoking a user-defined command sequence whenever the primary transceiver changes band.

I know how t turn on/off IPO manually with command  'pa01; 'pa00;.

I see the user defined command <IfBand bandname, N>

but how does Commander  know the "bandname"?

i assume if must need to poll the FT450?

+ With the Interrogation box checked in the Radio panel on the Configuration window's General tab, Commander frequently directs your transceiver to report its state. At minimum, the state includes the transceiver's frequency and mode. If the transceiver is capable, the state includes split status, RX/TX status, alternate VFO frequency and mode, RX passband parameters (shift, width), S-meter, various TX meters,. and CW keyer speed.

This FT450 command returns the band :

'BS;

returns band radio is on for example 6m is BS10, 40m is BS03 etc

Is there a way to get this to work? Or is the <IfBand bandname, N> not intended to be used that way?

+ You can setup a user-defined command that will enable/or disable IPO as a function of the transceiver's current band, but you will have to manually invoke it after a band change.

+ Note that SpotCollector enabled you to optionally specify a user-defined command sequence to be executed after you initiate a QSY by double-clicking a Spot Database Entry for a station whose mode will not be handled by a digital mode application. See

Re: user defined command sequence question FT450

'BS;

returns band radio is on for example 6m is BS10, 40m is BS03 etc

Is there a way to get this to work? Or is the <IfBand bandname, N> not intended to be used that way?

+ You can setup a user-defined command that will enable/or disable IPO as a function of the transceiver's current band, but you will have to manually invoke it after a band change.

+ Note that SpotCollector enabled you to optionally specify a user-defined command sequence to be executed after you initiate a QSY by double-clicking a Spot Database Entry for a station whose mode will not be handled by a digital mode application. See

This was what I was looking for Dave!

I remember doing this a long time ago (over a year). I read through and did the steps and now everything is in sync with what LoTW is displaying.

+ Great!

Bookmarking this since I will have to do it again for 12, 17 and 30 meters in probably a couple months

Thanks!

And expanding a little on what Bill said.:

Snip--

You can get the information we want by going to the Check Progress tab and clicking Progress.

However, what you get word wraps if you try to print it out, making it virtually useless.

Snip—

And if you change it to a monospaced font so it does line up, you have to shrink it extremely small for portrait mode and don’t have headers on each page nor column lines to follow the lines.  I have examples but do not know if attachments work.  Pasting a snippet from one of my portrait shaped pages below my signature.  I am not hard up on the characters to designate verified, etc. this just happens to be what by previous logging program used.

I would like to print out a progress similar to what is shown on the RAT "Award Progress" top window. This is like what shows
within the Check Progress tab, "Progress" report except formatted so can manipulate not text spaces used to line everything up. I
want to show each entity and status by band on a row formatted into columns. I see I wrote one page in my original note. That is
my VUCC page which is one page, multiple columns and next on my list to try to generate. My DXCC is currently 7 pages since each
entity is on one line. Mainly I have taken a CSV output and formatted out anything above 6M, grayed 6M and 160M, and removed
deleted I have not worked, put heading on each page, and then made everything fit a width of a page and as tight rows as reasonable.

I am trying to get DXKeeper to be in sync with LOTW when it comes to awards tracking. I recently applied for 5B WAS and it was completed by the awards desk and shows up in LoTW. For example, 10M was the last band for 5BWAS, but there are about 30 states in the realtime award tracking window that shows the status as "Confirmed" and some states that show it was "Verified".. I think these should all be "verified" since they were accepted and processed by the awards desk. I also see this same thing on some other bands (160, etc.) where the award has been issued but the status hasn't updated to say "verified"

What am I missing? I know I'm overlooking something here. All Q's are done via LOTW, no paper cards here.

+ The ARRL does not provide a programmatic interface that would enable an application like DXKeeper to determine which of your confirmed QSOs have been granted WAS award credit.

+ As described in the reference documentation

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Progress.htm#Generating%20and%20Processing%20a%20WAS%20Submission>

+ and the task-oriented documentation

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/GenerateWASSubmission>

+ if you direct DXKeeper to generate a WAS submission, then after the ARRL informs you that your submitted QSOs have been granted WAS award credit, you can with one mouse click direct DXKeeper to update those logged QSOs to reflect their WAS award credit by setting their "WAS VFY" items to 'V'.

+ If you didn't use DXKeeper to generate your WAS submission, then your only recourse is to manually set each QSO's "WAS VFY" item to 'V'.

I don’t think that’s what he wanted. While that gives a summary of totals, what he (and I, being the Luddite that I am) wants is an array of individual entities that shows what is worked for each band, and mode for each entity, not a summary of how many worked.

You can get the information we want by going to the “Check Progress” tab and clicking “Progress”.

+ You can see that information directly in the DXCC tab of DXKeeper's "Realtime Award Tracking" window, which can quickly be filtered by band, by mode, or by award progress:

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Progress.htm#Checking%20and%20Analyzing%20DXCC%20Progress>

However, what you get word wraps if you try to print it out, making it virtually useless. There is too much space used between fields. For example, the Deleted column takes up seven spaces where the column itself is only going to have a Y or a blank. Cutting the spacing down to Del cuts four spaces, is equally clear, and would make the printout narrower. In the same way, Mixed could become MX, Phone PH, Digi Dig, and spaces could be saved. There’s a lot of unnecessary space between Digi and PSK as well. Changing the spacing would make it possible to printout in landscape format to keep on the desk or in the briefcase.

+ Directing Windows Notepad to use Consolas 8 point font and to print on 8.5" x 11" paper in landscape orientation produces a readable 10-page printout without word wrapping.

+ If you want full control over formatting, do the following:

1. make a copy of your Log file

2. direct Microsoft Excel to open the Progress table in that copy; never use Excel to open your log file, as you can make changes that render your log file unreadable by DXKeeper!

3. In Excel, you'll see a spreadsheet containing one row for each DXCC entity, and the following columns:

CountryCode: the entity's country code as assigned by the ARRL

Prefix: the "entity prefix" employed by DXLab

Valid: 0 if no a current DXCC entity, -1 if a current DXCC entity

CountryStatus: Mixed DXCC award progress

M160, M80, M40, M30, M20, M15, M12, M10, M6, M2: band-specific DXCC award progress

Phone, CW, RTTY: mode-specific DXCC award progress

user-defined digital mode: DXCC award progress for the mode you specified

4. For the award progress columns identified in step 3, the DXCC award progress values are

V: DXCC credit granted
S: Confirmed, included in the current DXCC submission
F: Confirmed
R: Worked and Requested
W: Worked
empty: Not Worked

5. Format and print the information however you like.

Your log file may also contains these tables if you have "Realtime Award Tracking" enabled for the associated award programs:

IOTAProgress
MarathonProgress
VUCCProgress
WASProgress
WAZProgress
WPXProgress

They are similarly organized, with a row for each "counter" and columns for each relevant band and mode.
