I've been thru that article step by step 3 times (doing the settings each time). As soon as I uncheck Enable WSJT-X as a spotter source, the LED spot source shows RED.

That is only true for the traditional "high tones" (2125/2295 Hz).
For European "Low Tones" the corresponding offsets would be 1275
and 1360Hz. For rigs that support the "1 KHz standard" (915/1075

Spotcollector
I upgraded a computer from Win7 to Win10 over this past weekend. I only run Spotcollecter, DXView, Map and DXKeeper on this machine. Under Win7 everything ran well.
Under Win10 I am seeing a delay

I like this proposal.
It seems another benefit might be for QSL managers when a log that is being managed loads the matching station, operator and owner detail.

Good morning Dave, I agree that that is one of the areas that people have to remember to change things when logging from a different location, etc. But it adds the advantage of having the data

None, it is a very good idea to make a log even more independent from the host operating system.
Store more and more settings in the database, apart those that are really common settings
