Somewhere back in time, DXKeeper began recording the following error:

2022-11-03 15:09:19.723 > DXLogMain.Form_load: unable to register MouseWheelControl.ocx: RegisterMouseWheelControl failed with error code -2147467259

It does not appear to be in any of the DXL install folders.  Where should it be and how do I recover it so that it may be registered ?

+ MouseWheelControl.ocx is installed and registered when you first install Commander. Where Windows puts it varies as a function of the flavor of Windows that you are running.

+ Evidently, this component was un-installed -- an action that no DXLab application can initiate. To re-install it, download this zip archive:

www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/MouseWheelControl.zip

+ Extract the file MouseWheelControl.ocx from the zip archive into your Commander folder. Then follow these instructions to register it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-use-the-regsvr32-tool-and-troubleshoot-regsvr32-error-messages-a98d960a-7392-e6fe-d90a-3f4e0cb543e5

+ Please let me know how it goes...

I seldom use SpotCollector.  I last used it in late July.  I opened it yesterday and immediately Recomputed the database because I saw a number of messages after making changes that stated that the database would have to be recomputed.  It is sitting like a lump.  I have the VE7CC and NC7J source windows open.  They each showed a few spots when I started SpotCollector but now they are not responding.  The spots that DID show in these two windows did not make it to the main SpotCollector display.  The last spot was 7/27/2022.  I will add that the solar indices in the upper left of the main window are current.

Since I last used it I upgraded from WIN10 to WIN 11.  I checked the firewall and SpotCollector is set to "pass".  Suggestions?

+ What color are the circular indicators in the "Spot source status" panel at the top of SpotCollector's Main window?

+ Is there an errorlog.txt file in your SpotCollector folder? If so, please attach it to an email message, and send the message to me via aa6yq(at)ambersoft.com

Mike, thanks for your reply. Yes the NO Prop box is checked. In addition, the prop box is populated.

+ What is recorded in the QSO's "power" item?

On the Awards tab of config, is "include QSOs with no prop" checkbox selected in the Marathon section of the window?

I've made several test and made sure I was double clicking on a callsign in SC but the lookup info is not appearing in the PF window. There is some info that is populating the name and QTH fields of the capture window. I also notice that the callsign I clicked on is appearing in the white field box in the grey band at the top of the PF window. However no information regarding the callsign appears below.

+ In Pathfinder, depress the CTRL key while left-clicking the QRZ button In the small "Pathfinder Search" window that appears, is the Auto box checked? If not, check it.

The errorlog that you sent me shows that Windows will not allow Commander to install the MSWINSCK.OCX component:

Commander uses this component to communicate with other applications via UDP and TCP.

I can understand why you would react to these messages by uninstalling and re-installing Commander, but doing so won't correct a
"Windows permissions" problem.

Try this workaround:

1. terminate Commander

2. in Windows Explorer, navigate to your Commander folder, and locate the entry for

CI-V Commander.exe

3. right-click the entry, and select "Run as Administrator" from the pop-menu

4. if Commander starts without a "See errorlog..." message appearing in its Main window's title bar, then the workaround was
successful: terminate Commander, and start it "normally", e.g. via the Launcher or a desktop icon; it should now be to communicate
with other applications via UDP and TCP.

Please let me know how it goes.

My login info is correct as I just logged in from google. I just renewed my QRZ subscription on Oct 5 as QRZ Platinum <https://shop.qrz.com/products/platinum-subscriber-package> .

+ You must double-click a Spot Database Entry for Pathfinder to display information about the Entry's callsign; that's the case whether DXKeeper is configured to use "XML Data" or "QRZ.com via Pathfinder".

Re: Net Server not starting

+ What leads you to conclude that Commander's UDP Network Service or TCP Network Service is not starting?

I tried reinstalling Commander.

+ That's unlikely to solve the problem, but can often cause much worse problems. Never do this unless there is hard evidence of a
corrupt installation, like error messages reporting that installed components or libraries are missing.

No joy. Error log attached. Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Re: Split mode not cleared going from CW to FT8

Dave AA6YQ

+ AA6YQ comments below
The upshot of this is that one can use a "User-defined sequence after
QSY" sequence in either SpotCollector if "WSJT-X" is enabled as a spot
source *OR* in WinWarbler if WinWarbler is selected as the Digital Mode
Application to turn off split in the rig.

This is a bit cumbersome ... it would be much more convenient if
"Taylor modes" were not sent to WinWarbler (since WW, like most other
Digital Mode Applications, can not handle them) and SpotCollector's
"Sequence after QSY" and "Transceiver mode for WSJT-X" were used (if
enabled) whenever clicking on a "Taylor Mode" spot, whether or not
WSJTX was enabled as a spot source.
+ I'm not going to make DXLab more complicated in order to compensate for a defect that a WSJT-X developer could correct in less time than it's taking me to type this sentence.
