I did something stupid - Serial Ports

OK - something happened, and I have no clue how to fix it.
 
I wanted to try and program my Kenwood TM-G707a.  To do that I had to
reroute the cables.  Always got a time-out error, which suggests to me a
serial problem.  After playing with it for a while - I gave up.  
 
Previously I have my ICOM 756 connected via com 1 and the CT-V cable.  I had
my rig blaster connected to com 6 via USB port and serial adapter.  Worked
fine - no issue with PTT or using commander.  I used a long USB cable and
the USB adapter at the end of the extension cable to connect it directly to
the Rigblaster.
 
I found a 9-pin serial cable and decided to use that instead of long USB
extension.  So I connected the USB serial adapter to the 9 pin cable which
then connects to the rigblaster.  I configure WW to 9600, 8, 1, N, and
DTS+RTS.  The rig will not key using the PPT.
 
I then disconnected the long serial cable and connect the CT-V cable to the
USB adapter, and configure CMDR to com 6 - CMDR works right away.  
 
So I know that both COM1 and Com6 work with CMDR.  So I connect my CT-V
cable to the long 9-pin serial cable which is connected to the USB cable
serial adapter, which is then connected to the USB port.  CMDR no longer
works.  This suggests that my serial cable is bad.
 
I then went back to the usb extension, and CMDR via com1 and WW via com 6
are working.  Again, indicating to me that the cable was bad.... is this
seem right?

Not yet. There's a currently unused "QSL Number" item logged with eachQSO that will let you designated QSOs confirmed by the same QSL card, and
thus  place these QSOs at the end of the generated submission form.

format so it can be printed out as per the layout of the current DXCC form ?

PDF generation would require purchasing a license from Adobe; the lasttime I checked, this was not an inexpensive proposition. The DXCC submission
report that DXKeeper currently generates are accepted by both the ARRL DXCC
desk and field checkers as long as you post-edit the generated report to
move those QSOs confirmed by multi-QSO QSL cards to the end of the list.

This means that you have Commander's Messages window configured to collect
and display messages exchanged by your PC and transceiver. This function is
provided for diagnostic purposes, and should normally be disabled.

To disable it, click the Msgs button on Commander's Main window; this will
display Commander's Messages window. In the upper-left corner of the
Messages window, uncheck the "Capture and display messages" box, and then
close the Messages window.

There may be an easier way but if you check the set select to Y in imported
QSO and then you filter with the SEL button the log will show only these and
then you can do a mass change on those that are now shown.

Not sure about that.  When ones turns cards in, for field checking, they require them in a certain format, with the multi cards at the end.  Those forms are not required if you are sending the cards to the DXCC desk, but the forms themselves are required by the field checker, as that is what he sends in the the DXCC desk, and the cards are lined up exactly as you have them on the forms, in order for him to quickly check that everything is there.

I have experienced this before where spots that are generated by WW
broadband decode are sent to the cluster instead of being local in SC.
Each time this has happened it was while I was running an application I
was testing (based on your VB DXLabTest code). This application was not
a cut down version of you code, but rather your code with some
additional code for test purposes (I was actually trying to discover
what DDE Links & Topics are available from the DXLab apps). Something in
DXLabTest was altering the behaviour of the Broadband Decode spotting. I
never pursued this further.

This may give you some insight into the reported behaviour.
