WinWarbler Pri sub - State

jetandkelly

Has anyone noticed in WinWarbler when you click on a call sign info about Pri Sub and or State does not change correctly? To duplicate this:
1) Make sure all info is cleared, by clicking on the X in WinWarbler
2) Click on any call sign in any of the receive windows
3) Notice the info up top changes as well as DXView
4) Now start click on different call signs in different receive windows or new call signs in the same window.

Notice how Pri sub and or State does not always follow correctly? This is especially noticeable when selecting state side calls.

While a 24" monitor is nice it really doesn't provide that much more
screen real estate. But 2 20" monitors provide a lot more space. Most
modern video cards do allow for dual monitors often one digital and one
analog and your screen can be extended across both monitors. Most modern
flat panel monitors can be configured for either digital or analog input
and come with both cables. So, it's pretty simple to set up for one
analog and one digital monitor. The set up I use has one 22" wide screen
monitor configured for digital input and one 19" 4:3 monitor configured
for analog input. My video card is an ATI 3400 series which came
standard on a DELL Vostro 420. That's fairly low end as far as graphics
cards go (that is it's not a super high speed gamers card) but it works
great for my purposes.

I like it.

I often find myself hitting the A=B VFO button after the initial SC

Perhaps it could be another option on the right click menu when you are on a

Hi Dave,
Was tuning around yesterday and had a flash of inspiration.
Would it be possible to have a button on Spotcollector to tune the VFO B
into another spot.
Say for example, you are working JA without a split, and another station
pops up on the cluster say,,,,9K2, the ability to just press a button and
tune VFO B to the next station to be worked could be an advantage,,,provided
they are working without a split.
Just an idea..

You mention CC User. That's a program that, among other things, passes spots through to a logger, including DX Lab Suite. While it is written by VE7CC, it can connect with any node, including VE7CC-1 CC Cluster node, and pass its spots.

If that's what you're doing, your settings in CC User should be as follows:

Configuration - Ports/Logging Program/Logging Program Connection: check the Telnet box and click on the Use Port 7300 button. Check the appropriate boxes in the Data Sent to Logging Program box on the same screen Be sure to check "Live Spot Format" and NOT "DX Tab Format" (the latter will not pass spots that DX Lab Suite will see!).

If you want detailed instructions, email me off list. I prepared exhaustive step by step instructions for a local club presentation on the VE7CC User software.

If you're using VE7CC-1 CC Cluster as a node, feeding spots directly from it to DX Lab Suite, then the address of the node is ve7cc.net, NOT VE7CC-1. Specify port 23, not port 7300. In this configuration, you are using DX Lab Suite to filter the spots and VE7CC-1 as raw input of spot data. If you use the CC User program, it can be the "front end" for DX Lab Suite, as the only filter, or as a prefilter or in conjunction with filter settings in DX Lab Suite as you deem appropriate.

Hope this is helpful. 73, Doug W7ZZ

Dave,

Sorry for the delay. I have rebooted and am still having the same issue. I
clicked on several spots tonight and only one would not display freq
properly.

Does the "Xcvr Freq" panel in the upper-right corner of WinWarbler's Main
window reliably display your transceiver frequency (as reported by
Commander)?

I've also noticed that WW will not change modes if a SSB or CW spot is
clicked, but will switch to RTTY mode when a RTTY spot is clicked. I'm not
sure if that is normal or not, I don't work much RTTY and don't use the CW
part of WW.

If you want clicking on an SSB or CW spot to "activate" WinWarbler, you
must appropriately configure SpotCollector, as described in

Modes Panel>

If after reviewing this you have questions, don't hesitate to post them

preparing the file for upload, it started sending them to club log, I almost
immediately got the following pop up: Upload file to club log: the
connection with clublog terminated before the upload completed". I have
been using this one-at-a-time upload, for the past 100 or so QSO files,

Hello All,

Tonight Winwarbler 7.0.4 was acting strange for me. I clicked on a spot in
Spotcollector (Saint Pierre & Miquelon, RTTY)and noticed that the
frequency
scale just above the waterfall display was not displaying frequency, just
0--1--2--3. Also the Xcvr Freq display in the upper right (RX & TX) was
blank.

I tried clicking on more spots and noticed that the freq would display for
a
half of a second then disappear, but on some spots it worked perfectly. I
did not see any pattern to it, I tried several bands and modes, some
worked
fine, some didn't.

Maybe just reboot? OS is XP. Any ideas?

Do you have Commander running?
In the title bar of WinWarbler's Main window, what letters appear
between
the square brackets?

Hi Hank,

Check your video card - if it has two outputs (HDMI and VGA), you're
ready to go. If not, you can purchase a relatively inexpensive one for
around $30 that will do the job. Just plug in the cables to your
monitors, and you're set! You'll have to adjust the desktop to show two
monitors, but that's easily done in Windows.

Hank,

You need multiple video cards or one card with multiple outputs. The monitor you see in the center (above my radio) is connected to the VGA port built into the computer motherboard. The other four are connected to a cheap 4 head (4 monitor outputs) video card I picked up for $25 used. Everything was pretty much plug and play with this setup.

An earlier setup with four monitors used four separate single monitor video cards. That one was a little tricky to configure the hardware plus it used up all my expansion slots.

I believe new multiple monitor video cards may be getting scarce. There seems to be a feeling nobody needs more than one monitor with the current generation widescreens! NOT necessarily true for some applications, but I guess we are not exactly mainstream!
