DXK CBA Tab

Jim-N7ESU

Previously when I have a logged qso and hit the CBA tab it populates info from QRZ with no problems and worked great...now all of a sudden when I hit the CBA tab not only does it populate like normal but also brings up a "Notebook page" labeled
N7ESU Callbook Lookup Actions Report 23-Nov-2022 and has name and address along with all previous qso's with that station. I dont know if something got check marked by accident or what but after looking around cant figure out how to stop the note pad from coming up. Any help appreciated

I'm trying to get Spot Collector to only show unworked spots for zones and states. I'm finally starting to go after my WAS across all bands and fill in needed zones for the WARC bands as well (band and mode for those). The problem is that all my worked-but-not-confirmed states and zones are still being entered in blue and setting off alarms. I'm sure 99% of these will come in on LoTW in the next few weeks or months so I don't want to keep seeing a torrent of blue entries in Spot Collector. I know there's a setting for this somewhere, but I just can't find it anywhere. Please and thanks.

I noticed under spotcollector "spot sources" tab.

Under the "WJST-X" the enable check box sometimes it becomes unchecked.

# SpotCollector does not uncheck the Enable box in the WSJT-X panel on the Configuration window's "Spot Sources" tab without displaying an explanation in a small window whose title is "SpotCollector Interoperation with WSJT-X"; this window is displayed "on top" of all other windows so that you'll be sure to see it. Did this window appear?

# Have you used the DXLab Launcher to create a Workspace? If so, was this Workspace created when the Enable box in the WSJT-X panel on SpotCollector's Configuration window's "Spot Sources" tab was checked when SpotCollector was last running?

# Is there an errorlog.txt and/or SC_WSJTX_Errorlog file in your SpotCollector folder? If so, please attach them to an email message, and send them to me via

Want to do a WAS on only the new state.

+ First, backup your log (Configuration window, Log tab, Backup button)

+ On the Main window's "my QTHs" tab, do you have a "my QTH" defined for your QTH in Georgia, and do all of your QSOs made from Georgia specify the "my QTHID" for your Georgia QTH?

+ If so, uncheck the WAS box in your Georgia "my QTH"; you'll find it to the left of the Lat/Lon panel.

+ If not, define a "my QTH" for your Georgia QTH, and update all of your QSOs made from this QTH to specify the "myQTH ID" for Georgia.

+ If you haven't already, define a "My QTH" for your Alabama QTH and check its WAS box; then update all of your QSOs made from your Alabama QTH to specify the "myQTH ID" for Alabama.

+ You'll find these article useful in accomplishing the above:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/MultipleQTHs.htm

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ManageMultipleQTHs

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/UpdateQSOMyQTHs

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/NewAddress

+ At this point, clicking the Progress button in the "WAS Reports" panel on the "Check Progress" tab of DXKeeper's Main window will generate a WAS progress report that only considers QSOs made from Alabama (because the WAS box is checked in your Alabama "my QTH" but not in your Georgia "my QTH".

+ To update DXLab's Realtime Award Tracking for WAS to reflect only your QSOs made from Alabama, click the Recompute button along the bottom of the Main window's "Check Progress" tab.

+ If you wish, you can "switch" back to "Georgia WAS" by

1. unchecking the WAS box in your Alabama "my QTH"

2. checking the WAS box in your Georgia "my QTH"

3. clicking the the Recompute button along the bottom of the Main window's "Check Progress" tab

+ Please let me know how it goes; after receiving your feedback, I'll create new "Getting Started with DXLab" article with these instructions.

I sent Dave an error log and he pointed out that the box was not checked to discard spots with a source that ends in -# (skimmer spots) in the prefilter dialog box.
To my chagrin, he was correct.  I checked the box and it now functions as it's supposed to.
I have not idea how the box got UNchecked, but that's what was wrong.  Dave, thank you!

Re: DARC DOK Award database

Phil Cooper

Hi Dave and the group,

Yes, those instructions are great for those that confirm on air, but that's not always possible or practical with digital modes.
The one single advantage of using the DARC Community Logbook is that when DL's upload there - and a great many do - that is enough to be able to claim the DOK towards the award.
You can supplement that with paper cards that then need checking, but does add an extra layer of housekeeping and expense.

It is just an alternative option, and one which I find quite useful.

Dave AA6YQ may have some advice?

+ DXKeeper provides a DOK item with each logged QSO. This item is accessible via the DOK textbox in the Award panel on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab. You can type a "DOK code" into this textbox. As far as I know, there are only two ways to determine a station's "DOK code":

1. ask your QSO partner during the QSO

2. from the QSL card you've received from your QSO partner

+ I'm not aware of any database or online service that will link a callsign and date to a DOK.

+ You can generate a DOK progress report by clicking the "DOKs" button in the "Other progress reports" panel in the lower-right corner of the Main window's "Check Progress" tab.

+ If you check the "DARC DOK region selection" box in the "Other Awards" panel on the right side of the Configuration window's Awards tab, then DXKeeper will load the file Awards230.txt from DXKeeper's Databases folder (230 is the DXCC Country Code for Germany). This file contains more than 4000 entries, so this process takes a few seconds. Each entry in this file contains 3 components: a DOK Code, a region, and a DOK Name, for example:

A01,Baden:Konstanz

+ This entry means "A01 is the DOK code for Konstanz in the Baden region".

+ With the "DARC DOK region selection" box checked, clicking the ? button next to the DOK box in the Award panel on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab will display a small window entitled "Main Award Selector: DARC DOK". The two selectors in this window enable you to choose a DOK by Code, or by Name. Thus if your QSO partner replies that he is operating from Konstanz in Baden, you'll be able to select that Name, which will populate the QSO's DOK item with A01.

+ The Awards230.txt file is distributed with every DXKeeper release, but the last update I received was on 2017-08-01 from Koen ON7RK; see

https://groups.io/g/DXLab/message/170197

+ and

https://groups.io/g/DXLab/message/170203

+ You can add new DOK entries to Awards230.txt yourself, but I'd appreciate it if you'd send any new entries to me so that I can include them in the Awards230.txt that is distributed with each DXKeeper release. If someone or some group wants to actively manage Awards230.txt , that would be great!

Do you have to the DOK numbers in your log, or does it work it out, as a lot of mine don't have the DOK numbers

Not even English. Selecting English translates the top level menus
but that's all. The content, news, help files and other documentation
remains in German. Maybe Chrome's auto-translate would work ...

Once registered, upload your whole log (maybe in sections if it is very large!), and then you will be able to see which DOK's are confirmed via LoTW and the DARC logbook, and you can also then apply for other awards directly, not just DOK, but also WAE, EUDX, EU RTTY, WAC, and others.

Go to https://dcl.darc.de/public/index.php
and create a new account. Once you have uploaded your logs, you can see
matches with all your DOK's, and you can apply for the award directly.
You can also import your LoTW log, which can provide extra matches.

I upload regularly there.

Joe and others,

OK, some remains in German, but it's not difficult to work out what most of the sections mean.
