If all you care about are Entities worked/needed you can use the RAT view.
On the RAT view choose the DXCC tab and filter with Worked/Confirmed/Verified and hit the report button. For Needs filter by

Filter the log (by date, for example) to display only the QP contacts and delete them all using Ctrl+Delete. Then remove the filter and re-import the converted ADIF file.

Locate the file you need and give it a check mark

thank you yes it tried . i was able to go into avg's menu settings and found the Q section and do a restore and add exmp. so hope it will not be doing this again.

AVG, even the free version, has a setting to find the quarantined
file. I'm not sure what version you're using but if you look under
the menu, tools section, there should be a selection for
