Hi Jim,

I saw your post about SOTA and how you have set up some User defined fields and etc.

I'm just getting into some SOTA work and have no idea how to do this setup.

How are you finding it to use? And any help in getting it set up would sure be appreciated!

Thanks,

A workspace is a file backup of all the DXLab registry settings which include your option settings and window positions etc. If you use different screen layouts or options for different situations you can create multiple Workspaces and activate them as needed.

I don't want it.
You can remove the Workspace file but doing so has no affect on the Windows registry. The last used settings remain in the registry and if they were removed your entire setup would be lost. So the answer is it can't be removed and there is absolutely no reason not to want it. If you don't use multiple Workspaces or never want to restore lost settings there is no need to worry about it.

That's a defect in the commercial control (TrueDBGrid Pro) used to

Subject: [dxlab] Spot Collector and PathFinder

I've recently upgraded all the application in DX Lab after my return at
home.

Today i've noticed that when a double click on a spot entry in Spot
Collector, Commander QSY my FT-1000 and the Path Finder window automatically
brings up over the Spot Collector window showing the QRZ info of the spotted
callsign.

Before the update, double clicking oh the spot entry in SC, the Commander
made a QSY on my Radio but SC STAYS IN BACKGROUND

As i have a cluttered screen (22") i have tiled SC and PF one over another
and ONLY when i need to read the QRZ.com page of the spotted callsign, i
manually bring up the PF window in foreground.

Maybe i'm missing something (i've been far from my shack for 1 month) but i
didn't find any Preferences that avoid this. Only the use of the Mouse Right
Click + QSY avoid me this.

Is there any way "to restore" the previous behavior of PF?

Sometimes Pathfinder's captive web browser (Internet Explorer) decides to
grab focus after completing a search or a lookup. I have chased this down
many times over the years, but have never found a reliable way to replicate
it or control it. If you're going to have SpotCollector and Pathfinder share
the same screen space, make Pathfinder's window a little less tall so that
when Pathfinder petulantly appears atop SpotCollector, you can correct the
situation by simply clicking on the still-visible title bar of
SpotCollector's Main window.

After some experimenting and help from Dave, I have a filter button working
to give me a quick way to limit the SC display to needed entities spotted
from NA. The button calls:

(NAE='Y' or NAM='Y' or NAW='Y') and <bandfilter> and <modefilter> and
<needfilter>

What I see is just as I expect. What I hear, though, are audio
announcements for needed ones spotted from anywhere. Is there a separate
method of limiting the audio announcements, or have I missed a SQL step?

It's not a major issue, but if there's a fix I'd like to stop the spots of
needed ones spotted from outside NA unless I am displaying spots from
outside NA.

On the Configuration window's Audio tab, the "Alarm trigger" panel lets
you choose between "Unfiltered" (announce newly-created entries that are
needed) and "Filtered" (announce announce newly-created entries that are
needed and that pass the Band, Mode, Continent, and Origin filters). There

Its possible you have clicked in two panes and on the waterfall for both of
them. Or more possible you have two panes (een three is possible) set on
separate signals on the waterfall, but one or two of those signals are
simply overdriven transmitters putting out sidebands of the same station. I
often see as many as half a dozen signals, whcih prove to the the same

overdriving, or me running my af/rf knobs too high and overdirving the

Dave,
Your symptoms and instructions look good to me. As for preventing
Windows from installing IE9 updates in the future I think you have it
right, it's just a matter of directing the Update utility to hide that
particular update. I did that in one other case where the Update utility
wanted to insall an optional update for the AMD video board in my shack
desktop machine. Installing that caused me no end of problems so I
backed it out and instructed Windows not to show that update again. Note
that this is most easily accomplished if you configure updates not to
automatically install but rather to just notify you of updates and let
you choose when or if to install them. I do this anyway because I don't
want my machines rebooted in the middle of the night when my scheduled
backups are running.
